Penalty Call At The End Of FS Game1
Re: Penalty Call At The End Of FS Game1
Still don't understand why it takes 100 years to turn a program around, these players are not coming out of High School, they are coming from Junior leagues. Freshman are in their 20's. Joe Sakic was just as good or better at 20 years old as he was at 40 years old.

Yes, they're coming from junior leagues. But not all junior leagues are created equal. You wouldn't say all professional leagues are the same. Until this season we haven't been getting many players from the USHL and those we have been getting are guys that haven't committed until they're around 19 y.o. The top talent commits at 15 or 16, then plays 3 years in the USHL before going to college. Most of our players played in lower leagues and didn't crack those line-ups until they were 17 or 18.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

If we had a bunch of Joe Sakics in our program, they would only be here for a year, if that and we would only get one good year before they all run off the the NHL.
Bring back the glory!

I'm tired of the crying, tired of the bullcrap, tired of everyone who thinks we should be winning the CCHA this year. Yes we made it to the Joe last year and that was a great run and alot of fun. It helped the confidence of this team but seriously look at the ice and remember that the majority of this team is sophomores and freshman that are contributing. I don't wanna hear any "young isn't an excuse" because it is, just cause the sophomores have a year of experience, the new freshman don't. They will get there and god knows how consistent this team could get in the second half but give it some time. This program is still only 3 years removed from the aftermath of being cut, if you think this team is gonna win 25 games and be national ranked consistently this year you don't understand or know hockey one bit. Shame on you. I just hope you don't jump ship before this team becomes a mainstay in a couple years.

Agreed. Like I said before, our team is on an uphill climb. Once we get to the top, I will be proud to say I was there with them the entire way. Have some support in your team and don't sit and complain. Have faith knowing that good times are coming.sum1udontknow wrote:I'm tired of the crying, tired of the bullcrap, tired of everyone who thinks we should be winning the CCHA this year. First off no one said they were going to win the whole thing this year. But to be in last place every year does them little good. Improvement has to come at more than one step up per year.
Second, the original topic should be looked at further. Since the CCHA doesn't seem to check over its refs, perhaps getting one of them disqualified based on technicalities will help get a fair game called this season.

You must be new to the CCHA? The majority of referees were referees in the league 20 years ago. They're not going anywhere. Well, they may be trying to get into the Big Whatever number it is now for next year. But for this year it's going to be business as usual.Zlikki wrote:
