Realistically, it is very, very doubtful that BG will ever contend for a national championship in any sport (club sports not included). If we do, there is no doubt it will be hockey. We are not even close to matching the teams of the early 80's, however, we are moving in the right direction. It is a process that will take years. With today's current players, I don't see the work ethic that the players had in the 70's and 80's. Perhaps too many other distractions today. I'm still trying to figure out why we ever let coach York go.

We didn't. Boston College is his Alma Mater. He grew up there and still has family in Boston. It's where he wanted to be.

They used to ask the same thing at Clarkson.

We are moving in the right direction. Ferris and Quinnipiac can get within sniffing distance, and so can we.

I don't share your pessimism. Akron has shown national championships can be achieved in the MAC.

This program has increased its win total each year under Bergeron. This year will be no different. There's nothing wrong with the coaching. You want Bergeron and Co. gone? Be careful what you wish for.

Well done, Flipper!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

We're in the cupcake conference and still getting smacked around. BGWriter do I still need to come on here and say, "I'm a fool" if we finish a few games above .500? Just let me know and I will. In the meantime I think we should come together and come up with ideas about what we can turn the Ice Arena into. Early on I said an overflow parking lot for BGSU football, now I'm thinking an auxiliary gym for the basketball programs (Specifically Women's Basketball because of their years of success). Any ideas?

We could turn it into a children's sports and education center? Russia might be turning their arenas into something similar after the Olympic games. That just might work in Bowling Green!

At what point does this mediocrity fall on the coaches? week in and week out, The team makes the same mistakes on the ice. Every post-game interview Bergeron says stuff like "they outplayed us, full marks to them" and says that the team failed to execute. As the head coach, he should be responsible and address the issues. This just doesn't seem to be the case. He just seems non-nonchalant after these losses. While the team fails to execute, ultimately it falls on his shoulders as the head coach. Perhaps change is necessary.

Amen, I know I go a little over board on here, but this coaching staff has to be a legit concern. His post game conferences are very similar, last series he even said something along the lines of "We just can't figure it out." Not an exact quote, but something close. It's just annoying hearing people act like everything is ok when it's clearly not. At some point something's got to give.

Should BGSU lower the Football and Hockey Programs to D3, as they should, BG may be competitive.

The only plausible solution is to close the entire university and allow the land to revert to the Great Black Swamp.

There's enough bozo's over there already. You can keep these bozo's over here. :D
