We are used to shitty first halves and then great runs in the second half, and everyone suddenly forgets about the first half. Now it's opposite and every one is freaking out. We have been consistently inconsistent throughout every season, but we have been getting slightly better OVERALL. Also, I didn't see anyone calling for the program to get shut down when we went to the joe a few years ago, with a losing record.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. I'm glad you are happy with the struggling teams like hockey and basketball. What a great person you are. Makes sense, you are a Toledo grad though

No I never said I was excited about the struggling basketball team. Coach Orr is a good man, and he is struggling at the helm and people want him fired. Coach Bergeron is struggling and eh... its ok lets give a him five more years.

The only reason I'm "celebrating" is because ignorant fans said I was out of my mind for comments I made earlier in this thread. They wanted me to jump on here and proclaim that I was a "fool" because I didn't think Bergeron was that impressive of a coach. It's just frustrating to watch, and its even more frustrating when a majority of BGSU Hockey fans sit back and act like everything is alright. We've won more games so were becoming more successful. Not necessarily the case considering we are in an easier conference and the struggles continue to happen. Also winning 15 games a season (which we haven't done yet) isn't that huge of an accomplishment. But, I guess if y'all think its success then it is because AZZ proves over and over how knowledgeable its members are.

I've been a fan for 19 years...and I'm currently attending BG right now, and it sucks watching this team do this bad with the potential that they had. We could have done so well, and I don't know the problem but I hope we figure it out. It's a little late now, bit i will never give up on this team, and I'll always be supportive of the program, no matter what. Hopefully we can go on a run in the playoffs ...if we make it. In doubting it now, we need to show up and play!

Its time to bring Dennis Williams back. He is a head coach, and has dominated in the NAHL, since having been unjustly removed and not even given a fair opportunity.

These coaches have had ample time to show us what they can do, and here is the list:
1. Bring in recruits that are sub average
2. Bring in recruits that do not meet initial eligibility standards and can not play,
3. Aided in the teams relocation to the worst possible conference
4. Can not even dominate in said worst conference
5. continue to recruit mediocrity
6. have former alumni instructing top potential recruits to go elsewhere
7. wont take recruits when alumni say to
8. are not getting the most out of the players we have.

team is not good. I appreciate the effort, honestly I do and commend them that attendance is up the program financially sound.
but our head coach is really a strong assistant, and the school needs a strong head coach.
it is time to bring in a strong head coach.
Bring Williams back.

Sad thing is you're too stupid to realize that a coaching change now would effectively be the death of this program.

My perspective highly differs. The University swore to make moves to do the best by the program. 4/12/2010 Greg Christopher announced the hiring of Chris Bergeron. We all know Greg was the same guy willing to cut the program. His none retention of WIlliams, is highly suspect. Now when you look at the subsequent moves made under Bergeron, and the recruiting losses that keep piling up. Factor in the low grad recruits, and 4 seasons of hockey, it is clear changes need to be made.
There are two options really. One, seeing the light, and that Chris Bergeron is not a strong head coach. Two, he has the entrusted the wrong guys to recruit, and assit him. That they are in fact where the failure resides.
52Wins 87 losses, 20 ties Chris Bergeron has a .395 win% He will loose 6 out of 10 games played. OK coaches are over 500, Good coaches are in 600's and elite coaches are 700 and above.
Dennis Williams win % 820 He has to recruit and build a new team every year. It is time this AD opens eyes. The numbers do not lie. Williams could easily step in and cut the dead weight, bring the right players and turn a JAW DROPPING 500 season his first year. BG's recruiting class is horrible, these are guys they are settling on, because the kids they went after said no. Next year is a 321 year at best.
Stop the bleeding.

If you fire the coach after 4 seasons you will send the message that you expect a coach to come here, resurrect a program from the dead with someone else's recruits. Good luck getting any quality candidates to apply.

As for the rest of what you posted, this is Coach Bergeron, NOT Paluch.

How long do you give him then? If you keep a guy around who hasn't moved the needle much in four years you run the risk of creating an atmosphere where losing is the norm...it's acceptable.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

BG beats Northern 3-2 tonight to get 2 points.

A split next week at least secures a playoff spot. Could still get a #4 seed and home ice.
