Rethink Voting

Post by graceful »

I have really been trying to get people to vote for Jordan since he was first nominated. However I think that people got a little too cozy knowing he had a 2000 point lead... well folks, someone's been slacking :duh:... I've been doing my voting daily!! And to go from a 2000+ vote lead back to second place... I highly doubt the McNasties from upnorth just woke up and decided to vote.

Get out there and support Jordan! Make sure people know who they're voting for 1st place. I'll support all my Falcon Hockey guys... but I always vote Jordan 1st......

Anyway, we've got to get him back up... voting goes until March 6th I believe... it can happen... he really deserves this!

Ay SIGGY Zoomba :)

I don't think it's anything we have done. It seems Tuomas has caught and passed Jordan largely because of this announcement. This initiative was sent out to the NMU student body and is posted on their webpage. Since this point, they have really picked up the voting pace. We need to do the same.

2004-05 Hobey Baker award

Of the 142 players left in the running for the 2004-05 Hobey Baker award, Northern Michigan University’s Tuomas Tarkki is in 12th place, and he needs YOUR VOTES EACH DAY to stay in the running. This award is considered to be one of the most prestigious individual awards in the sport of hockey. The voting is currently in the preliminary round which is decided by the general public. Preliminary voting runs through Sunday, March 6th, and votes may be cast ONCE PER DAY. Ten finalists will move out of the preliminary round, into the finals.

Voting is very simple and is done through the “Vote for Hobey” website: www.hobeybaker.com .

Tuomas boasts a 1.81 goals against average and a .939 saves percentage. On the year he has made 524 saves while allowing only 34 goals. He leads the CCHA in goaltending for all games, and for conference games. Tuomas’ outstanding efforts between the pipes for the Wildcat’s needs to be recognized, and this is our chance to help him get the recognition.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It's on the bgsu hockey page and I'm certain just like last year the athletic dept has been sending information to all media outlets across the country about Jordan being a hobey candidiate and getting the word out.

he only needs to finsh in the top ten and then the coaches vote for the winner from that list. Finishing #1 in this round means absolutely nothing folks

That's true...winning on the ice is more important right now and everything will take care of itself.
