Team looks mentally and physically worn out.
BG is the only Top 20 team to finish the season playing 12 weeks in a row (given we make the final four in league play). Make the NCAA tournament and its 13 weeks in a row.

That's the breaks unfortunately. They've lost to some pretty bad teams the last eight weeks, and you can't lose back to back games at home to a mediocre team. They finish up against a team that is playing for nothing in Anchorage and a UAH team that has become better as the season has gone on. Wins won't help RPI and losses will all but end their NCAA hopes. This weekend was critical and they blew a massive opportunity.

I know it's not the popular opinion, but just something to think about. A lot of parking spaces could be added for #FalconFast if there was no longer an Ice Arena. I'm just trying to consider what's best for the university at this point. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Please stop quoting "IBleed...". He's on most everybody's "ignore" list for a reason.
Why give him/her/it a forum?

I just don't see us not getting in at this point..... We aren't a top 16 team (my opinion), but I think 3-1 finish with a first round win will lock us in. We split the next four and lose in playoffs we'll be on the outside. Can't see that happening against 2 of the worst teams in college hockey.

I agree with you apollo, I don't know whats wrong with this team as of lately, but they've played some flat, non-passionate hockey, and lost to some bad teams. This team needs to refocus and regain their mojo, because I don't want to piss away our first chance at making the ncaa tourney for the first time in 25 years. Should finish the season with 4 straight wins and face more than likely Ferris, or possibly UAH in the first round of the WCHA tourney; I'd rather face UAH.

I think we are a primarily young team, and forming a culture of winning takes more than 4 years to create. I feel like we will continue to do well in the future, no matter how the season turns out. Being ranked for however many weeks we were was great, but I have never cared about the rankings. I hate the fake fans who only show up to games because we are ranked, and when we lose...ask why we were ranked so high. Like the ignorance of some people are just laughable.

I feel like we will end the season strong and there might be a possibility of us getting to the post season. Winning or loosing is good experience for our young guys and will help us in the future. I did not expect this season to be as amazing as it was, and even though we lose against some pretty meh teams, we still have to admit we played great hockey for the most of it, and I am proud to be a fan of this program!

GO BG!

A disappointing weekend to say the least. We seem to get comfortable with a lead and rarely does that work. I don't have the hockey knowledge of some but it also seems we may have been reading some press clippings as well.

Gotta get back to playing hard for 60 min every night. GO BG

Agree! We are a VERY young team and we have performed beyond expectations in the first half of the season. I am hopeful that the trip to Alaska and the time together will help the guys figure out what the problem is. I know we are a well conditioned team, but having no bye week can take a toll both physically and mentally when you have that many weekends in a row.

Plenty of hockey still to be played this season, so as always, I'm optimistic and am expecting a sweep of UAA!!

GO FALCONS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Officiating: The refs hardly called anything. If it had been Langseth, guys would have been going to the box after each scuffle around the net.

I've been puzzled by BG's ranking, and I've been caught up in it. The polls are one thing, but I don't understand why BG has been so high in the pairwise and KRACH. (I suppose I would understand if I did the math.) Because we beat Minny State and Tech?

Also split with Miami and went 1-0-1 vs. a then decent team in RMU. The thing about the PWR is that come late Feb and early March it starts to weed out the pretenders from the contenders. BG is teetering on that line. I don't believe they make it over a bubble team like UMass-Lowell for example since they have a track record and play in a better conference. BG is likely going to have to get to the WCHA final to make the tournament. Another win vs. Tech or State should be enough to bump them up. They cannot lose to Anchorage or Huntsville.

If we don't sweep BOTH these upcoming series, we'll need to get past the conference semis to get an at large bid.

Tis is just a suggestion, but how 'bout we play all three freaking periods.

Not giving up on the guys yet. I have a lot of faith in the coaches and upperclassmen to pull the team through this. Lest we forget where this team was just a few years ago, the same guys who got us to be relevant again can surely pull out of this slump. I know this weekend was discouraging, but we were one or two defensive break downs from winning both of those games
