NMU

Post by apollo »

BG makes the trek to the U.P. to play NMU. Really should be a good matchup for BG. NMU plays on the Olympic sheet which should help us both 5-5 and on the PP. The few skill players we have should have a little more room to make some plays. Our D unit should be able to get involved a little more, we skate better than NMU and it should lead to some 3-2 situations.
NMU has struggled to score this season that should be a good matchup for our D unit. I would expect a sweep this weekend unless Nell struggles to make routine saves.

BG could easily win 5-6 games the next 3 weekends and get some momentum heading into a tougher series with an improved LSSU team.

Up 3-0 after first period. Goals by Walker (PPG), Dufour and M. Pohlkamp.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Just turned it on for the third period. Real choppy, almost unwatchable.

BG adds 2 in the third for a 5-1 WIN! Second straight week this team has played a great game on Friday night and never really allowed the opponent any hope. Do it again tomorrow night.

Feed wasn't on at the beginning and then it came on and was fine. Lost the feed at the beginning of the 2nd. No video all through the 2nd period. Video was back about half way through the intermission. Our feed was fine and very watchable. I had tweeted to the WCHA and so did others. NMU said they were working with Stretch Internet to fix it both times it went out.

GO FALCONS!!
GET THE SWEEP!!!

Congrats on the sweep and the 900th win of the Falcon Hockey program! According to TG1996's Twitter (@bgsusports), Coach Eigner was on the team for the 500th win and Nelson Emerson scored his 100th BG goal that night (1-13-90; 9-8 OT win over the weasels)! :supz: :partyman:

ROLL ALONG and Sweep The Chargers!!!

BG currently sits in 7th place. However, BG has played only 6 conference games. 3rd and 4th place teams have played 10 conference games. BG has 4 games-in-hand to those teams and if BG were to go 3 out of 4 in those games BG would leap all the way to 3rd place. Bemidji and Minnesota State look unreachable but finishing 3rd is attainable.

Bemidji will fall back to the pack...I don't think BG is a first place team, but they should make a decent run before Christmas.

They have @UAH, Anchorage, @LSSU, Tech and @Alaska

Anything less than 7-3 will be a huge disappointment in my opinion. Really 8-2 is likely, not that I've turned a corner and think we're really good. I just see a lot of really good matchups against really bad teams.
