The NHL has never taken hold in AZ even though it was a strong minor league and WHA market. Probably because they didn't call themselves the Roadrunners and use this guy...the greatest logo in modern hockey history
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
There's still a long way to go, but this is literally the first News of an arena for ASU since they announced they were going D1.
The biggest question with any of these issues is money. The 'Yotes have seven months to figure out the financing, and the arena won't be available for use until the 2019-2020 season. That certainly gives teams times to figure out their re-alignment plans.
I could see Carolina moving to QC but they'll never get an expansion team. There's no way Columbus or Detroit would agree to move to the Western Conference to balance out the numbers.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.
Arena project is dead as ASU has pulled out...next stop for the "yotes? Probably Seattle. The Islanders are getting kicked out of their arena in Brooklyn. Hartford s after them. If this baby comes back with them...I'm all for it
