All WCHA teams annouced

Kind of surprising no Ryan Bednard anywhere after leading the WCHA in save %

I can't really disagree with anybody on that list. Possibly the goalie from Bemidji but he had a great season too. Possibly move Minnesota State goalie up to second team and add Bednard to the Third Team.

Pretty sure Bitzer got the "career" award there. No way he was one of the best 3 goalies in the league THIS season, which is what the teams are supposed to be based on. Hopefully it lights a fire under Ryan for this weekend :)

Alec Rauhauser was named Defenseman of the Year, and he is a finalist for the WCHA Player of the year award, as well. That'll be announced Thursday, though I believe CJ Suess or Atte Tolvanen to be the favorites for that award, as well.

I think it may be tough to get Alec back to BG for his Jr. year. He is going to be a top free agent target for NHL teams along with Brickley, as this article states.

Hopefully he stays because I think Bergeron would have his best team yet coming back next year with Alec , all the Frosh from this year and Tim Theocharidis coming in this Fall. Fingers crossed........

He does have family in the area. Don't know if that is enough to keep him here another year or not.

I've been figuring he would turn pro after his junior year. Now I'm hoping.

I think he stays unless he gets a max money offer from someone. I don't think that will be the case.

I've been under the impression that he is likely gone after this year. I'm surprised that he could stay for really any reason.

If I stays, I agree that we are a real contender next year, returning nearly everyone.

He would also likely be a captain next year which would look good on his resume. As I recall, we tried to get him to come out of juniors a short way into the season 3 years ago due to injuries. He chose to stay with his team because he was the captain.

Can we pay him to stay like they do at Louisville?

Rauhauser was a finalist, but CJ Suess of Minnesota State was named WCHA Player of the year this afternoon.

Man, it would be nice to keep Alec around for another year. I really hope we do.

It's been 4 days since the season ended. I can think of 3 reasons there hasn't been an announcement yet:
1) The coaches and team believe there is still a chance of making the NCAA tournament.
2) He's had so many offers that it's taking some time to decide on which one.
3) HE'S STAYING.

Considering there hasn't been any announcements about seniors signing anywhere, I'm going to say number 1 is in effect. Next week Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest, I'd say you'll have your answer of number 2 or 3.

No chance at number 1, sadly. Likely that number 3 is your answer.

While I personally believe there's no chance, it could be very close. Close enough that you ask your players to not risk missing it.
