@ Ferris State (1/28-1/29)
Once again, it's game week.
Following a weekend off to rest and regroup, our Falcons (12-9-3) return home to take on the Ferris State Bulldogs (9-17-0) in CCHA action. The Bulldogs enter this series after sweeping Bemidji State on the road, so you know it will be a tough trip up to Ewigleben Ice Arena this weekend. Friday night's game is slated to begin at 7:07pm, while Saturday evening's game will begin at 6:07pm, and they will both be available for broadcast through https://www.flohockey.tv/.
Defensively, Ferris allows 3.73 goals per game, while on offense, they score 2.54 goals per game.
Updated CCHA Standings (Games Played):
#1 Minnesota State - 50 (20)
#2 Bemidji State - 34 (18)
#3 Michigan Tech - 29 (14)
#4 Bowling Green - 26 (16)
#5 Northern Michigan - 21 (16)
#6 Ferris State - 21 (18)
#7 Lake Superior State - 20 (18)
#8 St. Thomas - 9 (20)
Should be an interesting pair of contests. Go Falcons! Beat Ferris!

Ferris is always a unique place to play because the ice surface is so tight. Neutral zone play is extra important turnovers can lead to quick zone entry/transition. The rink could expose BGs defensemen, but Ferris is still below avg. BG really should get 2 wins if they play with any level of urgency.

This has split all over it. I expect two close games, one where BG makes enough mistakes they can't overcome for a loss.TommyG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 12:13 pm Ferris is always a unique place to play because the ice surface is so tight. Re: @ Ferris State (1/28-1/29)
Ferris has a freshman goalie who transferred from U of Windsor: Noah Giesbracht. He had a outstanding weekend at Bemidji stopping 61 of 64 shots and is on a three game winning streak. He is 6'3" and 200 lbs. Being born in April 1999, he is now 22 years old; not a young freshman. Information obtained from CHN. We need to pound the net to beat this guy! I agree it should be an interesting weekend.
Falcon hockey season ticket holder since 1979-1980.

Definitely need 6 points this weekend to stay in control of a home ice spot for the first round.

I'm pretty fired up for this series. We're in the thick of the home ice push now, and there's a huge opportunity in front of us beginning with this weekend. We get swept, we have some tough questions to answer. We escape with a split, our dream stays alive. We sweep the series, we are in a great spot.
We need points this weekend, plain and simple. I'm looking forward to this team hopefully ending the January/February slump of years past and going into March with a full head of steam.

A third place finish puts Eigner at the top of the list for Coach of the Year.

I don't know I'd quite say top of the list, but definitely under consideration.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 1:56 pmA third place finish puts Eigner at the top of the list for Coach of the Year.

Mike Hastings should probably be the coach of the year until someone else wins the regular season.
Haven’t seen anything from BG that would indicate they are overachieving. They are a little young, but you don’t get bonus points because almost all your Seniors transferred.

Is it my TV or are players sort of doubled when they move?
