Well it’s not realistic that the current independents would form a conference anyway. Not sure Alaska schools ever get back in a league and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are gone again in a few years. Same for Huntsville.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 7:13 pmThe leagues can whine, bitch, and moan all they want about it, it won't change the fact they would get an AQ. If the other leagues don't want them to throw something together to get an AQ, they better start adding teams to their conferences.TommyG wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 4:20 pm Leagues would balk at giving an AQ to a thrown together league. That AQ would take and at large away from someone likely much more deserving. Bringing a program D1 without a concrete plan to join a conference is foolish. All your doing is wasting money. ASU thought they’d get a conference invite by now…there is massive frustration in Tempe that they are still independent.
Maybe if there were some more realignment and the CCHA went after say Robert Morris and Canisius it may open up a
a couple spots for Long Island, Augustana or Lindenwood in the AHA.
Miami definitely wants out of the NCHC…costs too much and Bergeron knows he’s got no chance there. Arizona State would happily jump in or Mankato possibly. If I’m Mankato, I’m perfectly happy where I’m at. Dominating the CCHA and in the national tournament every year.
