So 2 with Niagara. Gotta figure 2 with tOSU. I'd heard 2 at Princeton from somewhere (Eigner?) last year. Also thought I'd heard rumblings about Notre Dame this year (not sure about that one at all). That gets us to 34, right?

Re: Off-season 2025
Willy mentioned Princeton in one of his first pressers (where he also mentioned an Ice Breaker at UCONN, but haven't seen anything on UCONN even hosting that tournament yet). That comes from the Paskaris-Fogarty connection. As long as both schools are still interested, that should happen. Would like to see that start in BG since the Niagra series is on the road. If it's Notre Dame and OSU, hopefully both home and homes, that's a decent non-conference schedule.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:45 am So 2 with Niagara. Gotta figure 2 with tOSU. This year's Ice Breaker is ASU vs. Q and ND vs. Alaska so maybe UCONN is hosting next year?pdt1081 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:06 amWilly mentioned Princeton in one of his first pressers (where he also mentioned an Ice Breaker at UCONN, but haven't seen anything on UCONN even hosting that tournament yet). Our full schedule has been released by early/mid May for the past 7 seasons. Is the hold up because there's these B1G teams out there and we can't release yet?
I hate this part of the non-season. Once the Cup finals are done, there's nothing to watch except baseball and my team sucks so there's no point there.

Re: Off-season 2025
Well, Notre Dame is double booked on January 2-3 with both Canisius and Western having them scheduled. Last season, schedules were released with Western being double booked with BG and Ferris. A lot of the B1G non-conference schedule is known from opponent sources, so that's not the hold up. It may just be waiting on signed contracts for games this time around. Or it's a marketing strategy ("engagement" crap).TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:28 am

Re: Off-season 2025
Have to imagine it's the latter given the need to arrange travel, etc. Unless there's a snag somewhere getting ironed out with an opponent or two, but it seems very odd to draw that kind of issue out into June.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:53 amWell, Notre Dame is double booked on January 2-3 with both Canisius and Western having them scheduled. McMahon reporting he's heard Carr's name is possibly linked to the open Lindenwood position. His name regularly comes up when positions are open.

I don't think he's leaving BG anytime soon.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:51 am McMahon reporting he's heard Carr's name is possibly linked to the open Lindenwood position. His name regularly comes up when positions are open.

Re: Off-season 2025
Several non-conference schedule announcements this morning across college hockey. Hopefully we get something from the university this week.
FWIW, the GLI will feature Tech, Sparty, Ferris, and Miami.
Tech will also open the season at Minnesota.

Re: Off-season 2025
GLI stays on the Sunday/Monday schedule with Ferris and Western switching off as the third team. Looks like Notre Dame bailed in '26 to be replaced by Lindenwood (the Muckalt connection pays off early).
By opening the season at Minnesota, Michigan Tech has scheduled, in round numbers, the roundest number of OOC home games possible this season. LOL.

BG was apparently host to a USA Hockey Mid Am Camp over the weekend.

Home and home with OSU on January 2nd and 3rd. The 3rd is the home game.

Re: Off-season 2025
It will be a large crowd unless the weather is absolute crap. It's a highly profitable game for over break. It's actually really good utilization of the series. It also allows for a large travel crowd as well. If the team is doing well, let's push the BG takeover of Value City, and turn that place into home ice as well.

Re: Off-season 2025
Great outlook. I viewed it as them ducking our crowd at full strength, but that game is a draw no matter when it’s on the schedule. You changed my mind.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 6:25 pmIt will be a large crowd unless the weather is absolute crap. It's a highly profitable game for over break.
