Off-season 2025
Re: Off-season 2025
Gonna miss the band and the Fanatics, though.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
Re: Off-season 2025
Yes, the atmosphere will be slightly different. Will be interesting to see if they bring in a high school pep band. Unfortunately, you're going to have to make some sacrifices with scheduling. 4500 people at $25 per ticket vs 3500 people at $3 per ticket for an AHA or exhibition game. It just makes sense financially. I would rather have one non-conference game during break than a conference series.

Obviously very biased: My son’s bedtime is 7:30, so I’m hoping we find a way to get a 3:00pm exhibition on the schedule like last year or he won’t be able to get to any games this year. A matinee game is super nice for people with young kids. I always hope for at least one per season.

Roster updated. Looks like McKinley and Korodiuk have new numbers.

Good to see those CHL guys (Leslie) on there with numbers. My skepticism that he will come over has been growing since the trade.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 12:13 pm Roster updated. Looks like McKinley and Korodiuk have new numbers.

Re: Off-season 2025
I believe he's the only incoming that's still draft eligible. If he's drafted, the NHL club will dictate where he goes. 99% chance he's coming unless he's offered a contract. Being he's not projected to go early, most clubs will be fine with him coming here. If he's absolutely dominate, they'll move him next season. Under the current CBA, he's not eligible for assignment to the ECHL or AHL.

If memory serves, the last player to wear #1 was the Hamburgler.

Are there any #1s in the league currently? It used to be a popular number, but lately there seems to be a stigma associated with it.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 4:45 pm If memory serves, the last player to wear #1 was the Hamburgler.

Was pointed out today that Kabanov is not on the list, and has apparently left the team. Also missing from the list is incoming transfer Rihards Simanovics.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 12:13 pm Roster updated. Looks like McKinley and Korodiuk have new numbers.

The current list has 26, which is the new roster limit under the House Settlement. If I'm understanding correctly, 15 players on the list are exempt from that number (Simanovics would be a well).
Who said off seasons are slow and uneventful?

Re: Off-season 2025
Kabanov came over in the mass exodus from Northern when Potulny bailed. He played in fewer than half the games this past season and when he got in the lineup he was on the 4th line or the extra skater logging around 10.5 min/game. I was surprised he didn't portal out with the others.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 2:33 pmWas pointed out today that Kabanov is not on the list, and has apparently left the team. Simanovics is a bit of a surprise. If he's not on the roster, I'm not sure where he could possibly land at this point? He played in all of Miami State's games this past season and CHN has him rated the same as McKinley (CHIP).
I would never, EVER say any of our off seasons are uneventful. Just don't do a history search on my posts from a couple of off-seasons back.

Re: Off-season 2025
When does summer enrollment start? The CHL guys may have some prerequisites to take care of, so enrolled for summer? I'd say the same about Simanovics, but Hotson is on the list. I guess we'll see what everything looks like once fall classes start.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 4:34 pm Kabanov came over in the mass exodus from Northern when Potulny bailed. Morneau, Waters, and Stjernberg will be at Kings development camp.
