Doesn't appear Leslie was drafted so I'm guessing he's heading here in the fall.

Bemidji State incoming freshman D Maxon Vig (Cedar Rapids USHL) goes in the seventh round, pick 209, to Montreal and is the only CCHA commit to be drafted this year.

It's here, or sign a contract and probably go back to the CHL. Being in Vegas's camp, the President of Hockey Operations will probably get the chance to talk with him. He will probably have a lot of interaction with JW Aiken (assistant equipment manager) who worked here under Scooter, at the time Willy was playing. It was a pretty favorable invite for BG.

Dominik Rymon has committed to BG after 3 years at Everett in the WHL. Originally from Czechia, and has represented his country numerous times.

The 5’10 left shooting forward had 66 points in 65 games this year for Everett after 81 points in 57 games last season. Seems like another really solid addition.

He'll be eligible to recommit someplace else next year as he'll be an overager. My guess is he had clearinghouse issues and decided this school thing wasn't for him. Better he realize that now when Willy has a chance to update the roster rather than at the holiday break when he's stuck (I read somewhere that CHLers who leave during the season can't be replaced). I'm interested to see if he commits somewhere next year or whether he signs a pro deal. I'm guessing the latter. Still sucks, though.

In other news, Willy picked up his phone, made a call, and landed another pretty solid player. The only thing is Rymon is a forward and Leslie was a defenseman so we're down to 8 d-men including Jack Blake.

Could've been a multitude of things. Maybe he got here for summer workouts and classes and decided it's too hot here. Or his girlfriend said it's too far (it's happened more than anyone would guess). Maybe he just wanted out of Vancouver and was able to leverage a trade to Kelowna. Could be anything, but he decided he didn't want to be here, and it's commendable that he did so before it was too late to replace him with another high quality player.

Even with the Leslie loss we're still top-15.

It's exciting to see top end Jr talent like McKenna and Martone leave the CHL for the NCAA...should create even more interest in college hockey

Not dummies, get their one year of massive NIL money and then go pro.

Seeing online that D Brian Lonergan has flipped his commitment from Sacred Heart University to BG. Most recently with the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. I'm not usually the one to break news around here to apologies if it's already been mentioned.

Lonergan was initially a Michigan recruit before recommiting to Sacred Heart before recommitting to BG.
