Post in thread 'CHL to NCAA Recruiting Megathread' https://fanforum.uscho.com/threads/chl- ... st-293503205 F Sam McCue commits to Bowling Green. Currently Brantford Bulldogs, previously played in Peterborough, Owen Sound, and Flint. One of those guys teams trade for because he’s a hard working two-way forward that can score. 2024 Leafs 7th round pick in his D+1 year, Toronto’s rights will extend to after his senior year instead of expiring this year. Odanak First Nation member, brother Max was a longtime London Knight, former sharks pick, now in the Columbus org. Sam gets suspended way less frequently than his brother did lol
Good pickup for the Falcons

Soto and Crawford don't ring a bell off the top of my head. They may be posted earlier in this thread.

McCue doesn’t stop. He skates hard after every puck, collides with every opponent, and battles for every inch of ice. After passing, he skates his routes, sets picks, and pushes back to the defence to create space for his teammates. -EliteProspects 2024 NHL Draft Guide

Re: Recruit Update
Here's what I have for current recruits and year of arrival. I tried to reconcile Heisenberg and College Hockey Inc and was reasonably successful. Starting there I took all the '05-'07 birthdates and set them to show up next season. I think the 07's may be an extra year off but am interested in thoughts/comments. '08 birthdays are tagged to 2027, '09s to 2028. There are likely exceptions (Brekelmans is not showing on a junior team yet so he's probably '28 even though he's in '08 birthday).
Campbell is coming off surgery and hasn't played yet.
LMK thoughts and comments. This stuff was a lot easier to track when Berge and Eigs were running things as they only recruited a year or two out. I really like Willy's approach, it mirrors how all the other big name programs operate.

Re: Recruit Update
4 forwards and 2 defensemen graduate. Currently have 28 rostered (sophomore and above are exempt from roster limits). Obviously any early departures will increase the number that needs replaced.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 4:16 pm Here's what I have for current recruits and year of arrival. During one of Willy's first interviews he said he thought BG needed to do a better job of identifying recruits earlier (younger). We see that starting to happen. Now, to get those kids to campus.

Re: Recruit Update
Commentary on Soto from the same guy on USCHO that PDT has quoted.
Another OHL commit for BGSU- 05 F Matthew Soto commits to BGSU, decided he would celebrate with a hat trick tonight with the Peterborough Petes. 5 point game for him. He spent 4 full seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs, for his overage season he was traded to the youthful Petes (still paying for their 2023 OHL Championship). 11 points in 9 games so far. In Kingston he was often a depth guy and only hit 50 points in one season, but he's getting top 6 minutes this season. He was born in St Paul, MN, but most of his youth hockey has been in Ontario.

McCue had a 5-point weekend (4/1/5 in 2 games) while Soto had a 6-point weekend (3/3/6 in 2 games).pdt1081 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 16, 2025 5:26 pm4 forwards and 2 defensemen graduate. Here's what I have for a current depth chart. Way too early to know who will portal out at the end of this season.
