Shocking!
Picking Anderson over Cheslock or McKinley for First Team is definitely a choice lol.

Putting Lemyre on 2nd team is probably crazier, he finished 10th in points. Peer was put on the first team, and Doran and Emerson had 2 less points than Peer.

Reading further, the people who put this together are really bad at looking at stats. They said Northern's freshman goalie had ".928 save percentage, which was second-highest in the country among rookie netminders." But in reality he had a .930 and ranked first among freshman goaltenders, the .928 was his league percentage.

And looking at league percentages....Steinman save percentage is .003 lower than his, but his GAA is .54 better. Not sure how he doesn't win rookie goalie, I'd rather have a goalie letting in half a goal less than another goalie each game.

Also think Van Vliet should have been on both All Rookie and First Team. He finished 3rd in points as a freshman, I'd say he was a top 3 forward.
It's supposedly the coaches that vote and only league games/stats are to be considered.

There's usually an "honorable mention" team released that contains every player that received votes. It is quite possible the votes for BG players were just spread out. You know Rymon was on every coach's radar as a player to contain.

GAA is no longer a statistic coaches look at. It's not xGA, goals saved above expected, etc.

The goalie from NMU should have been first team as well. He had nobody in front of him.

Doesn't appear to be an "official" press conference this week, but there was a Tuesday morning phone call.

Coaches poll makes sense. And I was just looking at the stats provided by the ccha on their website, would be cool to see all the advanced stats there too.
Bring back the glory!

Dr Parks was/is a BGSU legend.
She wasn’t my advisor, Dr Jack Vivian was, but she was the head and founder of that Sport Management program in the late 80’s. That program was a first of its kind in the country and really put BGSU on the map. It had some great faculty and professors. So good to hear her voice and it sounds like coach made quite an impression on her.

Dr. Parks was a major reason I went to BG and majored in Sport Management, as was mentioned in the interview, she wrote the books, who better to learn from?

Something to look forward to for the 26-27 season: We're playing in the Icebreaker Tournament in October, alongside Penn State, UConn, and Sacred Heart.

We don't know matchups yet, but we last played UConn in October 2012, and have never played Penn State or Sacred Heart, so this event has a pretty fresh feeling.

Anybody know anything else about the non-conference schedule for next season?

I'll be there. I need to knock off CT and RI from my list of US states visited (leaving only MS and ND).

Logistics should be interesting. Martre and Toscano are 90 min apart. Hopefully the athletic department has some involvement in hotel recommendations, get togethers, tickets, etc.

I'm waiting to see if Miami State is back on the schedule this upcoming season. Both Willy and Noreen have stated this series needs a reboot. I'd also like to visit Lawson one last time before it fades into the history books.

Should have 2 at Princeton. Either this coming season, or the following one. Maybe that's a topic Willy will cover during the season ticket holder call?

Raboin (Augie) and Strand (Mankato) both are mentioned a lot as replacements.

Also seeing Maine's Ben Barr.

If Raboin leaves, the Augie recruiting class gets tossed in the air. Expect a number of those incoming recruits to end up SkiUMah'ing.

So far there are exactly zero (0) mentions of Dennis Williams as a candidate for the Goofer job.

When he got here, he essentially said he’s not interested in any other college coaching job. It wasn’t about wanting to be a college hockey coach, it was about being the hockey coach here at BG. I believe him when he says that. He’s already home.

I wouldn't expect him to go anywhere. He's had two decent seasons and nothing that would move the needle on his national profile. Minnesota is probably going to go for broke with this hire given the NIL landscape.
