Jordan up for an ESPY?

Post by Metz »

Someone told me that they saw Siggy was nominated for an ESPY award on Fox36 or some other news channel today. I checked all the stations web sites and didn't see anything but has anyone heard anything about this?!

Not much of an award; I've seen the show and while they do have all the "Greatest Athlete of 2004" and "Best Female Athlete of 2004" kind of stuff, it's a very lame show...kinda like the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, but with suits and ties.

I kind of liked it; it's fun to see stuff like that. But no, Metz, I have heard nothing of the ESPY. I'll keep my eyes open though.

ANY award Jordan might receive in the future is just ONE more time of being able to get his name out there for the awareness about MS that he is trying to raise!! It also brings Falcon Hockey to the national scene. ANY nomination is a good one for BG and the CCHA!!

I hope it's true that he has been nominated and wish him all the best!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

haha, I'd have to agree with you there. But I'd rather have it be the Hobey Baker Award. :?

The nominations for the ESPY's will be announced at 8:00 a.m. next Friday, June 24th. Voting will begin immediately after the nominees are announced, so if Jordan is nominated we need to ready to begin the voting onslaught!!

"Best Comeback" would be a good catagory for him to win in!!

I keep wondering if its actually "up for an ESPY", or "will be getting an ESPY" as part of the Arthur Ashe Courage award they hand out every year. I don't think those are voted on, just someone selected and handed the hardware. Can't think of many more deserving after what he's done the past year!

In Jordan's case, the correct term would be "up for an ESPY." I do agree that he would be a very worthy candidate for the Arthur Ashe Courage Award also!! Wonder if he could get both?? :D
