I had money on Tuesday the 10th ( 2009 )
I guess that I lost that bet.
Look on the bright side the deal may be done.
How long was it until we found out about the contract extension?

On the encouraging side, in the last week I have recieved
3 communiques from BGHYA people that promoting letters to the ditors and other actions.
Looks like some people are geting organized, even if the University Admin. will not get organized.

On the discouraging side: the program started from zero in 1970 and took until 1984 to have a National Championship;
We are starting from the basement again. I do not think that I can wait that long.
On the other hand, it was only 8 years 'til Morrow, Shutty and Markel took us to the Final Four.

upping the ante

Post by bgbill »

those of us who were at the tOSU game last Saturday may have witnessed an historic event

I don't know this, but have been told by someone I trust:
Dr. Cartwright has recommended that BGSU drop the hockey program

BGSU trustees will be meeting soon (next week?) to vote on the issue

Wow. If that's the case, I hope the trustees unanimously recommend that Dr. Cartwright go to hell, without a handbasket.

I am seriously going to be sick...BGBill is someone I trust, very much.

He wouldn't say these things without reason.

The time is NOW for BG Hockey fans to organize.

Are the trustees meetings open to the public?

Don't they see what a HUGE mistake this would be?

I'm at a loss for words that are clean enough to post on this board.

If this is true, I'm DONE with BGSU...the whole darn place can burn down for all I care.

GO FALCONS!

Time for BG hockey fans, BGYHA, and BG Figure Skating Club to raise a ruckus. Egad, this is depressing

wheelhorse- The BGYHA is organizing...they have been for a few weeks. In fact, it seems like the only people writing letters to the editor are connected to the BGYHA. Steve Green (who's daughter plays in the IP league) just wrote an amazing letter to the editor. The BGYHA has been trying to get answers for a while now...and they are getting doors shut in their faces. It's disgusting.

I got a call from bgbill's source. I COMPLETELY TRUST that is is accurate. The BG trustees were advised by President Cartwright that varsity hockey is losing a million dollars a year and that the sport should be discontinued. They are meeting on Thursday of next week to vote on this. The informal vote was 8-1 for discontinuing hockey.

EVERYONE YOU KNOW NEEDS TO SPEAK UP ABOUT THIS! And...this is NOT an issue about whether you like the coach....AT THIS CRITICAL HOUR, THIS IS ABOUT SAVING BGSU VARSITY HOCKEY!!!!

Personal Note: If BG Hockey is done....WE ARE DONE DONATING ANOTHER CENT TO THE UNIVERSITY. This includes Falcon Club or the Sebo donation we pledged. We will continue to pay our son's tuition, but NOT ONE CENT WILL GO TO ANYTHING ELSE!! I know we are not alone in feeling like this.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Hopefully this is just another rumor. They just received commitments from the top scorer int he OPJHL and the top goalie from the BCHL in the last few days. If it is remotely true, then public protests are in order at the meeting and the likes of Cartwright, Sherideen S. Stoll (the CFO) and Dr. Whipple should be run out of town on a rail.

using the tool above, get the data for BGSU, and try to find how the hockey team loses a million/year

it's definitely time to protect the house, or think about becoming a Toledo Walleye regular

If the details described above are true from your source, then he must also know the one Trustee that voted against it. So who voted against? He's our friend so there is no reason to withhold his name. I also question your info about the day of alleged meeting. I have been informed she will be in Columbus at a Board of Regents meeting .

I found the schedule of their meetings and you're right. I'll let everyone know if I get to the bottom of this.
