Hey BG folks. I made it up there for both games this weekend. Had a great time in town there Friday evening and met/talked with a number of really nice BG fans at various bars in town. Not here to talk about the games, but I did want to say that I really enjoyed the pep band. I was sitting with a handful of other Miami band alumni and current members. We all loved the music selection (I miss playing Birdland!), and major props to the bass player. He was very entertaining.

I definitely know how tough a hockey series can be on your chops, but your band sounded great to the end. Keep up the good work, musicman!

On another note, I'm pulling for BG hockey to rebound and come back strong in the coming years. We need a stronger CCHA and stronger Ohio representation! Good luck from here on out!

Thanks for wishing us well. Good luck in your run to becoming a National Champ.

RedHawkBandMan = True Class....gives no excuses about anything win or lost.....no opinion on the mockery of a fight and no opinion on acts of the Miami Players.......good to see that out of a Miami Fan

I recently found out this, too and HATE IT!!! I repeat...I HATE IT!!! Let the band play when they feel it is at the appropriate stoppages in play like they used to! Well timed music can do fantastic things to keep the crowd going in a close game...especially in BB and hockey!!!!!!!! If you have a band leader that UNDERSTANDS the game and how it's played, then it's very impressive what they can do for the atmosphere in a game!! It should be like that in EVERY FREAKIN' GAME!!!

I apologize for every negative thought or comment I've made at games (and it's been a LOT) regarding how the band plays or doesn't play at the hockey games. This is just ASININE!!! REALLY!!! :axe: ](*,) :smt013 :smt021 :smt088

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Unfortunately the scripted music/promos/etc. during stoppages are just the nature of the beast of game production these days. You're not going to find many teams/organizations that don't do the same thing.

Of course, they definitely could allow for more band and less PA music. Other than that, I don't know.

Less PA music, more band music, would be preferable!
