Ehh, well BG didn't get this one, but at least they were in the game. I don't like how we are continually getting outshot, that's putting a lot of pressure on the goaltender. But, getting a split out of Omaha is nothing to sneeze at.

Just by splitting series the team will end up much better than they did a year ago. Let's get after Bueller U next week.

Getting outshot is something that's going to happen most of the season. BG has a lot of young players who are gonna need a year to adjust to college hockey, mature and refine their skills. It's not always a bad thing for goaltenders, most of them prefer to see a lot of shots a game to keep them busy. It'll only serve well to help Eno and Hammond get better as the year goes along.

Meh. After yesterday, I was just hoping that this team went out there and represented themselves well. Based upon the stats that I have seen, it seems like they did just that. After all, we all know that this isn't a team comprised of world-beaters - we just aren't going to win every game.

I just can't say it enough. I am so thrilled about the progress that this team is making. Sure, it hasn't shown up in the win column just yet, but this team has played hard and competed in their last three games. It is going to be an uphill climb this year, but this team seems to have the legs to make it!

GO FALCONS!!!

If you told me Thursday, we'd get a split I would have been pleased. I'm very pleased. We have asked for "progress" and we are definitely getting progress. Keep up the good work boys.

We didn't get a split this weekend. We got a tie and a shootout win Friday, good for 2 points.
UNO got a tie and a win, total of 4 points for the weekend.

A somewhat amusing tidbit from Saturday's game: when Andrew Krelove had a penalty in the first period, the scoreboard displayed his number as "75".

We may have only picked up 2 points on the weekend but overall I think this series was a success. When you look at how we played against Minn. State and the US-18 team compared to how we looked against UNO, I think we've def. made some improvements.

Just to put an end cap on the weekend:
- If we never travel again to UNO it'll be too soon. What a huge group of pompous asses. You'll notice when the presser goes up (uploading as I speak, look for it tomorrow) that we don't really talk about JST-gate from Friday. On Saturday a member of the Omaha media asked Williams why his team wouldn't forfeit the points from the shootout. Real classy, Omaha. Article here: http://www.omaha.com/article/20091031/S ... /710319745" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- Coach was happy with Hammond's play. He wouldn't say for sure but at this point it looks like it's #1's job to lose.
- JST: Dominating on the offensive end, needs to work on D end.

I can't believe what a big deal the UNO AD is making of this. If it were the other way around, do you think THEY would offer to forfeit the game and the point???? HELL NO!!! Mistakes are made by officials in ALL levels of sports that affect the outcome of games. It's human error. It happens and they don't go back and change it. Did any of the UNO staff complain DURING the shootout? NO! Give it a rest Alberts and quit whining!

Btw, here's the USCHO thread on this topic. A lot of interesting discussion on this.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Funny thing is, the UNO staff is almost just as much at fault as the officials/BG Coaches/UNO Coaches.

UNO in my eye saw the last place team coming to their house, they figured they would walk right through us with little effort and in the end they are embarrassed by their team and looking for excuses to cover their shame.
I wonder if NASCAR will rerun Taladega because of the crash? Ill bet UNO supports it.

How long has UNO been in the CCHA? Shouldn't they know by now that the Refs in this league are AWFUL? The fact that they bring up that "financially" it could hurt them for the playoffs is atrocious considering everything the Falcons have been through in the offseason. We are lucky to even have a team right now and they are worried that at the end of the season they might have to shell out a little more for travel. KISS MY AZZ MAVS!
