sorry I think my reply was taken wrong. When I talked about talent I meant offensive talent, I do think brony is towards the bottom for offensive skill. I do however think that he is the best defensive d-man that the squad has. That includes penatly killing.

No reason to be sorry it's your opinion, although I am glad you clarified. Someone once told me Bronson did play offense at one time, if he continued playing forward, I am sure he would improve offensively as well.
Still, I LIKE HIM ON THE D!

Hey gang, Thanks for all the feedback on Jeremy Bronson. I have found it all very interesting. I think I have a better idea why he has played so little thus far this season, and that's too bad. I would still like to bang the drum a little more though.
Jeremy is a three year non-athletic scholarship letterman who graduated in three years and now on a academic scholarship doing graduate work during hockey season in the accounting school that I hear is one of the best in the Country.
It's great to read that some of you think that Jeremy is one of the strongest, most physical, hardest working members of the team, as well as being the best defensive defensman. Great!!!
"blueliners bg" the stats comparison you report are eye opening. Well done...
Now, am I totally out of line to think that with some playing time and PR help Jeremey could be an an academic all CCHA or even NCAA. Is there
such a thing?
Does BGSU still have a sports information department or anything dealing with public relations in athletics? It seems that the great stories like Jeremy's are few and far between. I know I read way more than I like to about the BGSU athletes that are found with pot in their cars during traffic stops and of the violet and distructive behavior that the local paper reports.
Thanks for giving me the chance "Bang the Drum" Still hope to see #5 on the ice more!!!

There should be and Academic all-CCHA and NCAA for hockey. PR wouldn't really be necessary for that honor. I am almost certain the first factor is GPA. Then for hockey they would probably look at number of games, or maybe something else stats wise.

My brother was a Gymnast at PSU, and 2-time Academic all american. It was based on his GPA, plus he had to have scored above a 8.5 or 9.0 on at least one event (lucky for him, he could only compete in one event after shattering his leg).

There is a CCHA one.
There's isn't an NCAA one per se, but hockey players can be in the at-large one (which includes the 'other' sports like gymnastics, fencing, swimming, all those weird Ivy ones like squash). D'Arcy McConvey was on the at-large one in 2003-04. Personally, I think hockey should have a separate one like the other 'revenue' sports do.
