"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I still haven't renewed my membership, so I probably won't be in the lounge.

Painfully irritating? That conjures up all kinds of thoughts...I'm guessing a "required" family thing? :-D
Close! RA staff retreat
McC, Altoid has you beat. This is a fate far worse than death.
Agreed! Though I just found out our retreat has been CANCELED so I'll be at tonight's game! Unfortunately, I have to sit with my staff so I won't be cheering in the student section, but at least I'll be there! :-D

2-1 Falcons after 1. They seem to be skating well tonight! We've had lots of chances but Zatkoff has made some big saves.

I held off going to the game tonight because I had some final preparations for the trip down to AL.

I am now kicking myself.

4-1 Falcons after 2!

Cepis with 2 in the 1st, Perkin and Kantola in the 2nd.
However, Kantola just got ejected seconds after scoring for another bad hit though. Hopefully there won't be any consequences tomorrow night.

Keep it up Falcons!!

Final...4-2 Falcons!!!

What a great game top to bottom. This team skated with intensity all game long, didn't give Miami many chances and capitalized on the ones they had. The radio guys made it sound like this was the best the team's looked all season and I don't doubt they're right. The only blemish would be Kantola's second suspension of the year. None the less a hell of a game from the Falcons... now lets finish the SWEEEEEEEEEEP!

HELL YEAH!!!

Wow, what a great win. I caught the last 2 minutes of the game on the web and had to do a triple take when I heard the score and time! I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of this weekend, really just hoping for a good showing. But to get a win? That is a HUGE step for this program under Paluch!

BG's first win over a number 1 team since 1993? Oh yeah... :)

I think we beat MSU in 1997 or 1998 at Munn when they were ranked #1.

This was a great game and proved a LOT to me about this young team.

1) Scoring 4 goals on the #2 goalie in the nation.

2) Holding the number 1 offense in the nation to 2 goals. Keep in mind, Miami has outscored its opponents 30-something to 5 in the 3rd period this year. They are a very well conditioned team.

I'm very interested to hear the reports from the folks who were there. It sounds like BG just took over the game and didn't let Miami set any of the game pace.

Great game for the players, fans, and the coaches!

I just got back. It was absolutely incredible. Jimmy stood on his head making spectacular saves. There were times we had no idea where the puck went and other times where Jimmy tried to sit on it and someone jabbed it and a good 5 people were in there trying to find the puck. The Falcons skated amazing. They were rather tired in the third period and had some passing problems, but even after Kantola took a bit of the energy away with the big hit the Falcons kept taking back the pucks and eliminating chances. It was amazing. I'm interested to hear what other people thought about the game that were there :)

Unbelievable! Fantastic! Cepis was on fire! Cepis, Solway, and Sexton had fine games. Whitmore and Svendsen worked hard. BG didn't fold after Miami scored its first goal seemingly effortlessly. BG killed the 3:00 of Kantola's major. A great game all around!

(... with the exception of Kantola's repeat offense. I didn't see the hit, so I don't know if it was flagrant, questionable, or what. Should a coach bench a repeat offender?)
