Our power play sucks!

Is this thread from last season? Did everyone edit their posts from last year to reflect this season's roster??? Just checking...I'm having some Deja Vu...all over again.

Well, we kinda have the same power play problems as last year.

I have stayed away from this site for a while now becuase I wanted to allow the team to keep winning without any remarks from me.
The PP isn't going to change if it hasn't changed in 5 years why would it change now. Just keep on beating a dead horse. What just becuase they are 0 for 38 or whatever do you really expect change.
I thought it was interesting the post about how "earlier in the year the players were allowed to be creative and now they are being forced." I have been saying that for a long while, this is what Pooch does. Takes the players with creativity and makes them like robots (thus tkaing the fun out of the game.)
I have a serious question for you guys out there: Do you really think the team has gotten better or has the league gotten worse?
I pose this question becuase it seems that the league is watered down this year, I mean when in history has OSU taken till christmas to win a game?
It seems to me that there are a lot of teams that are used to being top 5 in the league and now for some reason suck.

Well, OSU is down this year, there's no denying that. But who else is normally up in the top of the CCHA that isn't this year?

When has WMU ever been competitive for the CCHA title?

Ferris? No.

Northern Michigan? No.

Alaska-Fairbanks? Tsk-tsk.

Really, its just the usual suspects up there again. To say the rest of the conference has "fallen" down to our level is a little overblown.

I wouldn't measure the CCHA by what Ohio State does. Good gravy, tOSU doesn't even have a winning record in the CCHA. One regular-season title and two tournament titles. Pffft.

To me it seems like OSU and ND just switched spots, two seasons ago OSU was one of the top teams in the league while ND was stuck in like 10th, now ND is one of the league's top teams with OSU down around 10th. All leagues go through these type of cycles

Before Christmas we allowed 4 short handed goals. Since Christmas, i.e. when it seems like the powerplay went to crap, there has been one allowed. And that one was an empty net goal by Notre Dame. The "creativity" may has been taken out to prevent short handed goals. For years, the same thing has been happening. It's a swing from a lot of production from the powerplay (and a lot of short handed goals allowed) to a lame powerplay with very, very few short handed goals allowed. And when I say years I mean it goes back before Paluch was the coach.
