pdt1081 wrote:As for the Whitmore hit, by the book it's a 5. A game misconduct was announced which means he will play tomorrow. A disqualification would mean he'd be out. I said by the book because there were at least three hits earlier in the game that were from behind into the boards that weren't called. Calling that penalty like that is total BS. Same with the penalty on Maxwell. Yes, he retaliated by slashing the guy's stick. Where is the call for the hit after the whistle?
Pretty much wrong here. Whitmore is lucky to be playing tomorrow - it was a textbook hit from behind. Maxwell deserved his 2 minutes. easily could have hurt the LSSU player after the whistle on that slash.

When you don't work hard much of the night, and get beat 6-1, you start taking stupid penalties at the end of the game.

Here's to a different team showing up tomorrow!

Whitmore would have had no penalty called had he not let his feet. With the effect of a guy getting checked into the boards by someone who excels their body into them from behind with a leap, that will get called everytime. Whitty was getting frustrated through the game and let the best get of him. It's not a common mistake he makes and it's not one I expect him to make further in the season either.

If it gets called every time why didn't they go to the box for it? Truth is our guys fight through every check they take. They don't fall down easily and when they do they get back up as soon as they can. They don't stay down and try to draw penalties. The guy Whitmore hit stayed on the ice until the whistle. He was on the ice for the following faceoff. He didn't try to get up after the hit.

Agreed. And Aaron is an idiot. That back check on Schmidt in the second period should have been a 5 minute major too. Unbelievable the crap he let happen over and over.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
