That is the ONLY reason there will more than 2k at the Ice Arena.
Gee, are you speaking from experience? Hockey still consistently out draws men's basketball. I wonder why?

Come to a few games before you make stupid comments.
Rick,
Are you implying that FALCONBOY makes some "STUPID COMMENTS"? That's certainly a surprise, as most of his observations are very well thought out...for a six year old!

You guys can say what you want but guess what? We can still be excited about this game!!! I went to one of the ND games this year, the one we lost 8-1. And wouldnt you know it, that was the best hockey game I have been to in a while. The atmosphere was awesome. Now if only ND would have had 7 or so less goals :( Sure it was embarrassing, but we had a great turnout and it was a fun night. Its not ALWAYS about winning. Its about having fun. So if you know we dont stand a chance, at least have fun!!!

I agree, though I love talking about techniques and what we need to do to improve, every game is still fun. The first period of that game was amazing.

Well, since my company went bankrupt, and I have no job...I'll have my azz planted on the couch watching this one at 4pm (Pacific time). I guess there are benefits to not working :P

Yeah, we did beat Miami on a Friday night over Holiday Break last year. They knocked us off the next night and twice in a row in the CCHA playoffs though. The hockey team is probably the only BG sports team to beat a #1 ranked team in any sport in decades. Then again, hockey is the only sport that I follow closely.

If the game is a blowout again you can still sit back and watch in awe and wonder at the skill of Notre Dame. I was at the game in South Bend last month and was just blown away at how good they are. Sure it's much more fun if we win but youcan still enjoy a well played game regardless.

I wish I had seen this before. Falconboy - the attendance for the first Minnesota State game was almost 1,500 and that was over break after the UT football game. The second game was over 1,500 - also over break.

We've broken 2K twice (actually 3K) and came damn close for the two NMU games.

Men's basketball had just over 1,000 for their first game and the women are averaging 1,260. Hockey attendance is doing just fine, thanks.

The arena was rocking last night, and honestly, if you've got nothing nice to say, please just don't say anything at all. It's a better experience when the pessimists and frowners stay home and be quiet anyway.

I believe they announced attendance as 3,113 last night.

That was a great crowd. Section E and the Athletic Band (it appeared to be the largest turnout for the Athletic Band that I can recall) started things off right during intro of line-ups (still wish we could get that going at home basketball games).

One tradition that I'm glad has not been changed over the last 25 years is when the team takes the ice and the band plays the theme from "Rocky".

I thought we put together a solid 60 minutes of hockey last night. Disappointed with the outcome but very happy with our effort.

I won't criticize Scott for the decision to pull Spratt in the final two minutes. (He is damned no matter the decision he makes anymore). I liked the aggressiveness of the decision and ND got the lucky empty netter.

I thought our defensemen played a great game last night. Usually I'm not thrilled with the defenders but I thought they played pretty darn good last night.

Jimmy Spratt has taken some hits on these boards and I have felt they were undeserved. Last night (in my opinion) I thought he did a great job.

I personally thought that we were lacking in some fundamental areas. Passing, shooting, puck-handling. We didn't really look good. I'm amazed we only lost by 2. Thought we might win for a minute. Damn that crossbar!!! We played hard though, some violent hits. I love seeing an Irish on his azz. :)
