BG Knows Best has the correct facts...not being able to spell a person's name isn't a reason to ignore what they are saying. Heck, I don't even refer to the coach by something as kind as a extra letter. Some of the people on this board have known about this "meeting" for months. I was of the understanding that the AD took this meeting to heart, but maybe I was just hearing what I wanted to. BUT, it boils down to this...facts are facts...as I said yesterday, the puck is in the AD's court. He can do what's right on behalf of the program THIS WEEKEND or he can let the program fade away. I, for one, will not allow my heart to be ripped out by the latter.

Re: Paulich needs to go!
While I don't disagree with most of what you're saying, I completely disagree with this. The BG Youth Hockey can't afford the ice time because the people in charge of the Youth Hockey have driven many of the kids away. Add in a high school coach much like our current Falcon coach and there is very little desire for kids to play hockey in BG. The high school coach plays the politics game instead of the talent game and look what you end up with. The University is not responsible for the downfall of the BGYHA. That responsibility comes from within that organization.BG Knows Best wrote:The whole program from B.G's youth program through high school and Falcon hockey is suffering! As most things from the top it trickles down. The BG youth program can't afford the ice because of Paulich's inability to budget the programs money. I wish we could elaborate better but I think you are getting the point. In the past B.G's hockey programs from youth, high school through college was admired by all, but today it is looked at as a joke. We need a coach that is not in it for the social status, but for the pasion for the program. We could easily get money from numerous NHL,AHL players but they cannot stand Paulich or his coaching methods. I gaurantee that they will when he is gone and a respectable coach is hired that knows how to coach on and off ice!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Just want to say I was joking about the spelling thing (thats what theBG Knows Best wrote:The details are true. The spelling of a name isn't nearly as important as the facts. Obviously we hit a nerve.

Adding to our posts from last night, we are a 30 year fan of BG hockey and an alumni of BG. We have become very saddened by what is happening to the hockey program and recently ran into a disgruntled former player on his way out of town. We were shocked at what he had to say about all the behind the scene problems. Have these issues been going on for a while and fans like us have never known about them? We couldn't keep this to ourselves any longer and felt that it needed aired. It does seem we are in need of a coaching change, I don't know who could turn this thing around but one idea might be Wayne Wilson he has done a good job at RIT just look at his record. Or maybe Ron Fogarty he has a good record at Adrian. Both of these men have been here before and did great things when they were here. Those are just a couple of thoughts. We just want this program back the way it was in the good old days. Winning records and full stands! Oh, I hope I spelled everything right.

I agree. While I'm not the biggest hockey fan like most of you in this forum, to see such a proud and successful program sink to the bottom and stay there for this long is sad...wow, this program used to be BiG time. Never went to a college hockey game until I got to BG...and it was electric in the IA...and loud. It really blew my mind how passionate the students and community were for the program.
I think Paluch needed to go a couple years ago. Football had is share of problems and GB was dismissed. Hockey has pretty BiG issues, it seems to me, that need addressed. I don't have the insight and knowledge like other people so I can only look at it from a distance.
