The hockey program is not allowed to do a "hockey only" fundrasier. Team specific events that raised a lot of money were stopped last year, due to the big event golf outing (or whatever it's called) that raises money for all of the teams. That is why the annual community/hockey alumni golf outing was discontinued, so I doubt if any "hockey only" fundraising event would be allowed.

I do think it would be awesome to do a celebration of some kind, however!! I love the idea of using the Cla-zel, showing the game and having players from that team talk!!
Are there any limitations on doing a non-sponsored fundraiser?
Check out our new BGSU hockey site: http://www.bgsuhockey.com

I would hope not!! :-D
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

You know what in the interview with GC I hear him state clearly that people can now give directly to the sport they support...this could well be key in establishing the two visuals needed to show the University where the bread is buttered. Ticket sales and donation. We have been given our opportunity, now we all just need to do what needs to be done, and get on with it.
I sent a note to OCC about a Falcon Chopper fundraiser, I doubt were high profile enough for them but what the hell.
