- When JST and Solway get clicking they are very difficult to stop. But, getting them on the same page seems to be a bit of a challenge.
- The PP is starting to fall back into bad habits. Too much passing at times.
- When we are on the power play we can't commit dumb/lazy penalties. Getting called for a hook while on the PP should never happen.
The good news is that there isn't a shortage of things we need to improve! Tonight's over, time to focus on Saturday.
Great assessment as always, BGDrew!
Why do you think some of these things keep happening? We are now half way through the season and I would think that some of these things would be worked out.
I am still going on Saturday but I hope I get to see a better game (and third period)!!

Me too, on both!
GO ICERS!!
BEAT THE SCHUMUCKS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Young teams need to learn how to win. This is no slam against our seniors but their experience winning games isn't exactly extensive. There's been very few times this year where I've noticed a lack of effort so that isn't the issue. I would love to be able to point to a date on the calendar and say "That is when we'll turn this thing around." Unfortunately I just don't have that kind of magic touch. But, I would say when that happens there will be no doubt we've turned that corner.

From what I can tell the decision to scratch Dee wasn't an injury or for disciplinary reasons.
Family emergency, maybe? Seems odd that Finegan isn't filling that 4th line spot.
I'll try to find out from Willy during the post-game. The BG staff really had no explanation other than that he was trying to get a spark out of the young guys to step up.
Chat with yours truly until puck drop. And, just in case you were wondering here's the view from my seat: http://www.twitpic.com/xfakp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

According to the Sentinel, 7 players were suspended for one game each this weekend for violation of team rules/code of conduct. Boyd, Sinclair, Vargas, and Peltoma sat last night. Dee, Perkin, and Finegan are sitting tonight. Williams said "All seven are being penalized, but I didn't feel it was fair to penalize all 25 players on the team by sitting all seven in the same game."
I thought the guys played a strong second and third periods. The first period they looked a little out-of-sync and chasing the puck instead of controlling it. I feel if we were able to play a full 60 minutes of hockey we would have won!
Hammond overall looked solid and we were playing much better defense after the first period. Some of the calls were a little suspect, especially the Page penalty to start the third period.
I hope when we play the Wildcats we see the team and effort from Saturday! Go Falcons!

Good points. I was just shocked about the collapse in the third period Friday night. We seemed to be in the game and then all of a sudden fell apart BIG TIME.
I think the Saturday game proves your point. Better effort and game play from our young squad.
Thanks for all of your hard work at the games! We appreciate it!
