RIT only offers academic scholarships. There are no athletic scholarships there.

RIT has no sports scholarships and you have to be pretty smart to go there.

(Posted Oct. 12, 2009) Does RIT/NTID have sport scholarships? What would I have to do to be able to get one? For example, I wrestle. Would I have to win the states? See Alan's answer
Alan's response:

RIT/NTID does not currently offer sports scholarships for our students. However participating in sports is a wonderful thing to add to your resume or college application. We have more than 20 deaf or hard-of-hearing students playing various varsity sports for RIT teams. I would encourage you to try out for the RIT Tigers wrestling team. While we don’t offer sports scholarships, many of our students qualify for other types of scholarships based on merit and the strength of academic performance in high school. Additional financial aid may be found through your vocational rehabilitation counselor. If you are able to tour RIT/NTID, I would encourage you to pay us a visit. We would be happy to show you the campus and the numerous sports facilities available for our students.

Judging by where the recruits come from, while they "say" they dont have athletic scholarships, Ill bet you wont find many with out a ride, if any at all.
not that it matters
they are good and well coached and that is all that matters.

None of the Ivies offer athletic scholarships.
Neither does Union.
So it is definitely possible to field a D-I hockey team without them.

Congrats to Wayne and RIT! Wouldn't have bet the farm on that one. Am in Ft. Wayne. Miami-UAH was a clutch-n-grab affair. Not too pretty. Miami didn't score an even-handed goal ... production continues to lag. I think that Michigan is skating it's best hockey of the season. Team speed was just too much for BSU. Interesting rematch tonight. At least we're assured a CCHA rep. in the Frozen Four.

The bloggers thought that one reason the NCAA put Miami and Michigan together in the Ft. Wayne regional was to boost ticket sales. Didn't happen yesterday ... 4,100+ in the 13,000 seat Coliseum. Would have been a nice crowd for the BG Ice Arena. Being a Sunday night and televised, I'd be surprised to see any more for the final this evening.

I sent Wayne a congrats email and in his reply he told me to wear orange!! :-D I told him that I am pretty sure I'm wearing my white replica jersey with the '84 signatures on it...including Wayne's!!! :supz:

All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I don't think I've seen two complete thrashings like that ever in two national semifinal games in any sport. It couldn't have happened to a classier crew at MU either. I'm glad to once again see their National Championship hopes come crashing down in an epic and embarrassing fashion.

The finals should be pretty exciting between Wisconsin and BC though. I'll pull for Wisconsin, only because I'm sick of seeing Boston teams win the National Championship.

I was at the games and THOROUGHLY enjoyed seeing the redhacks get their butts kicked over and over!! Was sorry that the RIT game wasn't better. They had a GREAT fan showing and were a loud group!! Actually, they were the only group you could hear in there. The venue really sucks for hockey, btw! A little torn on who to root for in the final...Jerry York or Kevin Patrick...

Very Interesting sighting Factman..........I'm going to speculate and say he was not there as a fan. He was there to see potential coaches or the future coach at BG coach in the frozen four. Maybe thats why they announced they would name a coach after the frozen four.

I think Christopher should go with his gut on this one and hire Jerry York as soon as possible.

If the speculation is true and Miami assistant Chris Bergeron is a candidate it makes you wonder what last night's shellacking does to his chances.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.
