Great game tonight!! I "watched" it over game tracker, what a great service. There seemed to be a few panalties, and we were ourshot like custar at his last stand, but we came out on top and that is all that matters!!! I really enjoy people talking about memories from past seasons. When I got here in the fall of 1995 I cam remember getting to the Ice Arena at 5 and waiting for the doors to open at 6 and playing euchre. Buy the time the doors opened the line was usually down the front walk. I remember about three seasons of this and then the early lines started to trail off. If you weren't there at 5 you could forget about a front row seat in section E. What great memories. And better yet, we are on the road to making more with a full house and a great hockey team!

Probably the hardest and toughest the whole team has played so far this season. We sat behind and to Siggy's right for the two periods he was at the east end. Spartans were trying everything to get a goal, finally had to kick in the one they got. They got pretty chippy at that end, too. Would have been nice if they would have given up more than the one goal during the five-minute major.
Little Siggy really likes to shoot from the goal line; his first goal was from about half a foot in front of the goal line, 8-10 feet to MSU's goalie's left. Just a real well placed shot.
Jon Sitko played his normal all-out style. Walking slowly after the game as he carried his gear to the bus, wincing and smiling.
Jordan got first star, Jonathan second. Could have been either one for first, but Big did have a lot of saves, and survived a wicked stick to the throat. His first time in goal at Munn. Pooch's first game there as coach.

Lansing State Journal recap of Friday's game

Sigalet brothers, penalties hamper Spartans' success
Effort was there for MSU, but this time it ends in a 2-1 loss

EAST LANSING - The reasons for Michigan State's 2-1 loss to Bowling Green on Friday night were obvious:
• A sensational goaltending performance by Falcon senior goalie Jordan Sigalet, who made 46 saves.
• Bad penalties - and too many overall - by the Spartans.
• Two power-play goals within 38 seconds late in the second period by BGSU sophomore defenseman Jonathan Sigalet, Jordan's brother.
"Their goalie just stole the game,'' said Spartan senior center Jim Slater, who was stopped by Sigalet on penalty shot in the first period.
"It's a tough one.''
The Sigalet family certainly made it a frustrating night for MSU and a crowd of 5,917 in the first game of a Central Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Jordan Sigalet, from Surrey, British Columbia, made big saves in all sorts of ways - on breakaways, on odd-man rushes, through traffic in front, and even when he didn't see the shots.
"Jordan was fantastic, especially in the third period,'' BGSU coach Scott Paluch said. "Michigan State had some great chances.''
Sigalet stopped 16 shots in the first period, 11 in the second and 19 in the third. MSU had a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:10 starting at 16:24, but couldn't solve the Falcon netminder, who came into the game with a 2.61 goals-against average and .921 saves percentage.
MSU was 1-for-7 on the power play, while BGSU was 2-for-10.
Jonathan Sigalet, a 6-1, 180-pounder, broke a scoreless tie at 18:23 of the second period, when he beat MSU goalie Dominic Vicari (21 saves) from a wide angle on the right side on a power play.
Sigalet scored another power-play goal 38 seconds later when his point shot eluded Vicari.
The Spartans played a strong third period and finally solved Sigalet with a fluke power-play goal by Slater at 10:58. Tyler Howells shot from the left point hit Slater and rolled toward Sigalet, who appeared to have the puck in his glove. But it came loose and rolled over the goal line.
Referee Dan Brown consulted with the assistant referees before ruling it, indeed, was a goal.
MSU took two penalties later in the period and then the Falcons took two to make for an exciting finish.
"Sigalet made a lot of great saves,'' MSU coach Rick Comley said. "My only disappointment, other than losing, were the bad penalties.''
MSU lost defenseman Corey Potter late in the second period when he was assessed a major penalty for fighting and a game disqualification penalty. Potter will miss tonight's game at BGSU, while serving a one-game suspension.
Said MSU sophomore left wing Drew Miller:
"I think we beat ourselves. We played well except for penalties. We had to kill off a lot of penalties and that tires out some guys and it doesn't give others a chance to get out there.
"That was a big drawback.''

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
