Random thoughts and observations from Sunday's ex. game:

Being up 3-0 after 1st period is nice, but we ought to have been up 5-0. Twice missed getting wood on the puck with wide open net.
Tough to "grade" Hammy's performance, as he only faced two shots in his 20 minutes of "work".
Can't blame Zacharias for the 5x3 goal, but the other one was ugly. Can't have rebounds from pad saves kicked right back into the slot. Galley looked tight and nervous...understandable.
Glad we got their #2 goalie, not the guy who made 54 saves at Michigan saturday. Anybody else notice OIT goalie doesn't wear socks?
It's always hard to evaluate the team off a game against this type of competition. Several of the OIT players couldn't skate worth a crap, and it's really tough to see if we're really as quick as we look, or if we just look quick because they are so slow.
We are a noticeably larger team this year...especially on defense. Hope this dosen't translate to lack of speed...only time will tell.
Several defensive breakdowns, definately a work in process...I love watching the coaches actually coach during the game. At least twice during the game, I saw coaches and players huddled together on the bench as play was still in progress.
I was impressed (for the most part) with our discipline. We had several opportunities to play down to their level and goon it up...Grover took the bait once, but other than that no ugly penalties.
Gotta love the band. They looked great, sounded great...and altho I was not close enough to know for sure, I'd be willing to bet they smelled great, too. Nice rendition of OhCanada. If there is a more beautiful national anthem anywhere on the planet, I've never heard it.
The new sound system is awesome! I spent time in several differant locations, and heard every announcement loud and clear. Also noticed a better job on coordinating music/band/PA so they aren't stepping on to each other. "Right Back Where We Started From" has got to go! That song makes me gag everytime I hear it, never understood how it got into the 'rotation'...it's only redeeming value is that it was part of the soundtrack from 'Slapshot'.
Du hockey comme dans le temps!

Agreed there on the sound system, so nice to understand all the announcements. Also the renovations looked great, love the new look of the lobby

GO BG!
Hammond was in net 1st period, Zacharias in 2nd and Galley in 3rd and the Ontario goalie was not the one who beat the weasels by stopping 54 SOG.

Out shooting Ontario 48-17 was an impressive stat!!!

GO FALCON HOCKEY!!
SWEEP THE HUSKIES!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
