Also, an old Western Michigan player said when our rink gets packed and loud, it is one of the toughest places to play at. I just wish it was packed all the time!
Give it time, my brother, give it time!! Saturday's game against UM brought back very fond memories of my youth:
-Standing back during the onslaught of students rushing to get their seats & then trying to sell programs.
-Folks standing on the stairwells, trying to get a peek
-Folks lined up "FIVE" deep along the glass
-Still standing in line to get a hot dog when the puck drops to start the period. And wondering which Falcon it was who scored. :D
-Walking out of our barn after ANOTHER thrashing of the wolves....... :supz: (And whoever else was visiting!)

Take heart - every indication is that Our Glory is rapidly on its way back!!!!!

Ps. I'm betting FF & BG Fan remember these days as well?
Most definitely! They will be returning! :-D :-D

I loved our attendance against U of M however after next year it may be a tough sell to pack the place with us moving to a new conference and not playing teams like U of M, OSU, ND, MSU, Miami, Western as frequently. True, success brings people to the arena but the name of our opponent is just as important to fill those seats. It will take time to build up new rivalries and during this time our marketing dept will need to find a way to get our fans interested in these teams even with us winning.
We packed the place for teams such as University of Illinois Chicago, Ferris, NMU, Wayne State, etc. Hell, it was packed for the yearly thrashing of the Canadian exhibition team. It didn't matter who it was then and it won't matter now, as long as we're winning. It's hockey! It's fun to watch, especially if we're winning!

Well atmosphere is a big part of a hockey game and I am sure every fan wants to believe their place is the best or they wouldn't trade it for anything. Well you might want to make a trip to Ann Arbor next year since it seems like it has been awhile especially since we might not be playing each other after next season with the formation of the Big Ten Hockey conference.

I have been to Bowling Green many times and actually like going there because it is easy to get tickets and most of the time Michigan fans are 20% of the crowd which always makes it nice for the visiting team.

Well Yost is in their own phase of renovations. Besides last years renovations that added a new LED scoreboard with nine video boards. The scoreboards were part of a $20 million project to replace the decade-old scoreboards at Yost, Crisler Arena and Michigan Stadium. There will be new lighting, new VAC as well.

The new renovations will cost 16 million. The renovations at Yost will replace the bleacher seats, create ADA accessible seating and loge boxes. In addition, new premium seating opportunities will be created and a new press box area will be designed on the west side of the arena. There will be an upgraded concourse with improved concessions and more points of sale. The facility will get new exterior windows, similar to the Glick Fieldhouse, and lighting to create a more inviting atmosphere.

The university plans to replace the majority of spectator seating and make improvements to Yost's east and west concourses. An existing level-four media balcony will be converted into a series of luxury boxes and a new level of seating on the arena's west side will be created for media. Corner platforms also will be added for more seating. Total seating, however, will decrease from about 6,200 to 5,800.

Suppose to have started or just about to right now and be completed before next season.

I was there last year for the playoffs so it hasn't been that long ago.

Anyway, when renovations are complete at BG there will likely be fewer seats available due to expansion of the press box and other plans. Given that, once the program gets back on the right track, tickets won't be quite so easy to come by.

I'll commit right now to buying an extra 10 tickets to the next home game we have against UM...just to make sure there's fewer seats available for skunk fans. Anybody else want to take that challenge? Donate the tix to your nearby boy scout troup, special olympics, whatever. Tax-deduction and fewer varmints. That's win-win.

Thanks!!

Actually I visit BG several times a year for hockey games and not just when Michigan plays there.
