Zacharias has been given opportunities and quite frankly doesn't look like a D1 goalie. His reflexes are a step slow, he stays far back in the crease exposing too much net, and struggles in handling the puck.

Hopefully he proves me wrong but I know he's not being looked at as a starting goalie by the coaches.

Couple of things:

1) With FF on a soap box she's still shorter than most everyone we all know [except, perhaps my daughter.]

2) To be fair to BG Drew, throughout the history of falcon hockey, there has been a dropoff when introducing a new[er] goaltender. Don't blame him for having that thought.

3) If the end of the season goes into next, I see a top five finish. I'm not sure if they're in the top three yet, but they will be a good team.
It was amazing when coach stated that the players needed to start having "fun" the game seemed to slow down meaurably for the younger players. Someone flipped a switch. Irregardless [sic], we are going to have excellent momentum going into our new conference [whatever that will be].

BGSU is always good with goaltenders. The "jump" to D1 for most of these guys is not as great as you might think. Not nearly as steep as with other positions and systems. Then add in the improvements to other 5 players when in the dz and the number of quality chances is going to be greatly reduced. Which in theory should make the transition far easier. One step at a time, team will not be a top 5 team next year, aside from potentially at times in that mix.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Well...the team sure does look like they've bought into the coach's' system...that's more than half the battle. I haven't watched a lot of college hockey the ladt few years...too much NHL available these days and that's the game I prefer, but that Carpenter kid is as solid a two way forward I've seen here the past few years.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
