Freshman are playing better than most of the them. It's cold, but the Seniors are not the future for this team and it may be time to sit a few of them.
I didn't make it to tonight's game, but from what I saw last night, it wasn't just seniors. It seriously looked like the guys were just occupying ice. It was like they expected to win and didn't think they had to work for it.
There's a reason I titled this thread the way it is. I was worried since the sweep at LSSU last week that this would happen.
If that wasn't the wake up call this team needed, it's going to be a very long second half of the season.
Lost to Ala-fricken-bama.....how the hell.....tonight, this team IS the laughing stock of NCAA Hockey.
Agree 100%. This isn't just a player issue, it goes all the way down the list. The falcons lost tonight, apart of that is the coaching staff. Let's not let them off the hook.
Complete lack-luster performance.
After this game, made the decision to save a few dollars and not make the trip to Pittsburg. Pathetic performance.
I agree, but if the coaches put you out on the ice you have to perform. Look at each goalies stats and tell me who you would go with. Burke has lost one game. It is up to the coaches to put the players out there that give us the best chance to win. What was not in any report of the game last night was that we missed three chances at an open net in OT. The goal judge even anticipated us scoring and put the light on. Frustrating.
How this team responds from here will tell me a lot about it's character. Carpenter and Berkle are sorely missed as well. The young guys need to quit being afraid of losing in the third period and it takes the Seniors to step up and settle them down by making plays on the ice.
I really like the all freshman forward line. They have a lot of energy in the offensive zone, and I don't see that many mistakes from them, well at least this past weekend.

The goaltending should be the least of the concerns of this team right now. There's no hustle, no effort, no want, and no energy to their game. The most frustrating part as a fan is knowing the talent is there to do big things. You can sees flashes of it here and there. When they want to dominate a game they can.
