Charter members (1971) were OU, BG, OSU, and St. Louis. BG is the only member that was a member from day one. OSU dropped out for a few years and then rejoined. LSSU joined in 1972.

Huh. Going by memory, I thought Lake Superior State was a charter member, too. I also thought St. Louis, Ohio U., and Ohio State were there at or near the beginning, too.

Did Lake State come a year later?
CCHA inaugural season was 1971-72; BG, OU, OSU, St Louis.
Lake Superior came in the following year 72-73.

BG, tOSU, OU, and St. Louis started in 1971. Lake State came on in 1972.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
