I'd be more than willing to discuss college hockey with you. However, by the comments and opinions you've expressed you've shown no real background or knowledge of college hockey in 2016. And rather than try to educate yourself you'd rather lay a heavy dose of smug to try and put yourself on a pedestal, talking down about a program that has made steady progress over the last seven years.
=D> Thank you, Drew!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Cute.

As someone who was covering the team when they won just a few games, there has been a constant improvement on a year to year basis. This isn't football where you can spit in the wind and hit a four star recruit. Competition for the best players is tough, and we've been able to cultivate pipelines in Quebec, Minnesota, and the growing Ohio area.

Our schedule is what it is: when we played musical chairs last time the program was just coming off life support. We joined the conference that would take us, and have gotten to a point where we're a top-three team every season. We can't control the competition level of teams we play in our conference, it's just a fact.

Because of our conference our travel budget is massive. To help keep the budget as small as possible and to maintain past rivalries we play our in-state schools and WMU. To round out we play a few Atlanic Hockey schools since they're easy bus trips.

How we've finished the past few seasons in the second half hasn't been great, and Bergeron has admitted the same, calling it inexcusable.

Barring any early departures this year's team should be a top-15, top-10 team. Anything less than a tournament berth will probably be a pretty big disappointment for all involved.

I've seen the team play 30+ games every season for the past five years. The program is still improving, but if you want to continue to consume your urine-flavored breakfast cereal be my guest. Just don't expect people who know better to accept your drivel.

Comments about being a top 10 or 15 team are completely unfounded...yes we have a good goaltending situation and veterans returning...but we have shown no signs of consistency scoring goals and aren't very skilled with the puck.

The Miami series early in the year will tell me a lot...they are going to be a legit top 15 opponent...I will be very interested to see how we stack up...At this point I think any success we've had the last couple years is related to our schedule strength, but I could be wrong about this upcoming year.
