SOB.......... Tied.

3 v 3 for the extra point.

Great to see we can't beat who we're supposed to beat. Taking some of the air already out of next weekends showdown.

Amazing to go from sweeping Western and blowing out Ohio State to barely getting by mediocre teams.

Going to shootout. If a player with time left to serve on a penalty is ineligible to take a shot, what about a goaltender with time left to serve for a penalty?

It's getting a bit old, and they have to figure this out, as team and a staff. These crap games cost us big all the time and happens every year. I'm starting to believe there is a fundamental problem when it comes to playing these bottom 10 teams. I don't know if it's coaching or philosphy or what, but figure out how to actually show up for these games. And I don't want to hear in another interview how they are a good team, fight hard, etc. They arent a good team - they are awful and tying them is an embarrassment and could well be the difference between a tourney bid and staying home yet again in the spring.

These games are called different than the non-conference were. First penalty of the game was on Craggs for interference. He hit the guy with the puck.

This was a high scoring team until they hit the WCHA way of officiating games.

BG will need to sweep MSU to even be considered for an at-large bid. Will probably need to win the league.

There’s something to that. I was in town for the Friday LSSU game. As someone who has watched hockey my entire life and played most of life, that was the most uphauling officiating and unintersting game I’ve watched.

I completely understand not being able to get up for games like that. I wouldn’t want to play that style of game. The constant PP and PK kill any flow and remove the end to end play that makes the game fun.

It’s like WCHA college hockey is played like college football overtime. Each team alternates special teams opportunities until someone wins. It has aspects of actual hockey, but it’s certainly not that interesting. It’s Not for me, thanks.

One of the reasons the NCHC was formed is because the teams that left wanted to make a change at the director of officiating position. He is still there.

That third place trophy cabinet is getting pretty full.

Just be happy that you’re in a mediocre league and are having some level of success. You could be in the CCHA still and finishing 8th-12th every year. At least in this conference you have a chance to win the tournament and get a NCAA bid. Eventually it’ll happen....the law of averages says it has to.

If BG were new to the WCHA, I might accept this. But they're not, and the teams that win the WCHA seem to find a way to deal with it. Not saying you're wrong...the non-league results would seem to back it up...but at some point you have to adapt.

I'm happy with 2 points as opposed to 1 point, but we've gotta quit playing down to our opponent's level.

Need a clean, convincing W tonight. Can't give up too many more league points, man.

Going into Saturday night's game, the league standings (with rank, team name, points, and games played) are:

1. Minnesota State - 24 (9)
2. Michigan Tech - 23 (9)
3. Bowling Green - 19 (9)
4. Northern Michigan - 18 (9)
5. Bemidji State - 16 (9)
6. Lake Superior State - 16 (11)
7. Alaska - 14 (11)
8. Ferris State - 7 (9)
9. Huntsville - 3 (9)
10. Anchorage - 1 (9)
