We’re not as good as you think we are. We are a very limited offensive team with one of the 5 best goalie duos in the country. They both do a really nice job making the opponent earn their goals most nights. Unfortunately we lack the skill offensively to consistently make teams pay for turnovers and defensive zone breakdowns, which is why we struggle to score goals against even average comepetition. It isn’t effort or focus, it’s just a bunch of 3rd line guys trying to grind out goals. Overall, we are just a decent team that plays a mediocre to poor schedule (44th out of 60 teams in SOS).mbenecke wrote:Another split. Fifth weekend in a row where they just can't get it done against FAR inferior teams. We're flat out losing games we have no business losing, and most of it is just a lack of fight, a lack of desire to finish strong. It's heartbreaking, because this team is a lot better than they have shown since Christmas.
Oh, what this season could have been...

Will need to win the conference tournament. The rest of the games will be important to try and keep the 2nd seed for the playoffs.

I agree with you that we're limited offensively. We haven't scored more than 3 goals since the exhibition against Windsor. However, we're also better than 7 or 8 of the 9 other teams in our conference. As much as we may be a team of "3rd line guys," we still shouldn't lose games against teams in the bottom third of college hockey as consistently as we do.TommyG wrote:We’re not as good as you think we are. I'm not going to sit here and pretend we're national title contenders, but I also think we're better than 90% of our conference, so it's disappointing that we drop so many games that should be easily winnable.
