That second period was the most structured period of hockey this season.

Feels like we’re playing okay. Gotta finish, obviously. And nothing too impressive. But it just feels like we’re lacking the offensive talent or this would be more lopsided.

mbenecke, be sure to sit in those seats going forward.

We struggle getting through the NZ. But we’ll take the W.

I like our puck possession a lot. The shooting on this team has a lot to desire for though, holds them back from having an explosive offense

I thought Northern was a team where pucks just needed to be put on net as much as possible. Seems like the first period started out with trying to make too many passes before a shot. The cycling in the 2nd period was top notch, just lacked the finish.

Stoever mentioned in post game he had more than just injuries going on this season. Quite frankly, it should be his net tonight unless he doesn't think his body can physically handle it. The last 2 games he's played have been some of the best he's played here.

Anyone watching at home, was the Pasanen hit really that bad? From our seats not only did it not look like contact to the head, it looked clean.

After rocketing out to a 2-0 lead we get give one up.

It wasn’t pretty, but it’s a sweep! BG wins 4-3 and takes both games in the series to get back to .500 on the year overall.

I pulled up the Midco feed on my phone during the review. Never touched the head. Arm down, contact made at the goal line. Northern player started to fall, Pasanen pushed hard so he could catch himself on the glass. It was a hockey play that could have been much worse.

Only reason this game was close was the ones wearing stripes. It's hard to score lying on the ice.

Northern player lost his balance more than anything else. Unfortunate sequence of events. Kid was out on his feet leaving the ice, hopefully nothing too significant.

I thought that we played better tonight. Credit Northern for playing hard despite having a tough season. The Minnesota Collegiate Hockey Conference referees were in attendance. I sure am very sick of the way this league operates.

Lakers are complaining about the screw job the refs pulled on them in OT. They had the game won in OT then the refs disallowed the goal due to a phantom goaltender interference call. The Mavs came back down and scored.

At least we were able to overcome the zebras tonight.

7 - 7 - 2

I'm going to rant. ALL seven of our wins are against teams in the bottom ten of the pairwise rankings. Falcons are 0 - 7 - 2 against anyone in the Top 55 of the Pairwise.

We praised the team for staying together and coaches for holding down the fort while chaos reigned through the program last year. We are not close to competing for a CCHA title, the year to sneak into contentions was last year when Minnesota State was in transition and lost many players and a coach to Wisconsin. We barely skated past AT HOME mind you one of the worst teams in college hockey. This should of been a statement weekend by scoring 8 goals and allowing 1 all weekend. I'm not sure this team is good enough to host a 1st round series in the second worst conference in college hockey. We need people to put the puck in the net and thats a problem. Though it's been for 30 years. I'm hopeful that Willy can make this program a top competitive program in the league again, noticed I never said anything about national presence. Maybe we'll get there in the coming years. Our recruiting slogan should be Bring Goal Scorers to Us (BGSU). Their seems to be a vision and some direction but the two wins this weekend were disappointing in performance and show. Play anyone else, you'd be lucky to get a split or tie a game. We need better players if we want better results and hopefully that's being done on the recruiting trail.
