Blake Bobbleheads already on eBay
They must have had a ticket, I saw some season pass people walking in and leaving.

I guess I'm weird. Hockey is my 2nd favorite sport @BG and I do everything in my power to go to every home game. I was fan even last year, when there wasn't a lot to cheer for. I'm so excited about what we could do this year, and people just want a damn bobblehead. Yeah, I'm happy I have one, but going to the game and experiencing an amazing environment should be reason enough to get off your ass, go to a game, and sit until the end.

I'm happy with how everything turned out. The promotion did what it was intended to do....pack the place. To get more people out to see how the program is developing under Paluch. To re-introduce the program to those who have been away awhile, and to introduce it to those who have never been to a game.
Yes, it's too bad that some took advantage of it, and that some who didn't get a bobble head who truly wanted one....but that's how the head bobbles. In the end it was an extremely successful promotion that packed the place for a game against a last place contender. Traditionally Notre Dame doesn't draw any more than, say, Miami or WMU. So, from the perspective of the university, the coaches, and the team this was a huge success, and I'd have to agree!

I don't know if I care....... There are always going to be those people who are into it for the money only, I guess that is downside of Capitalism.
While I did not make the game nor get a bobblehead, I want to think about the father/mother who attended the game with their child, got a bobblehead and will have the memory and souvenier of a great night together. Screw the opportunist, I don't need to waste my time or energy on them.

I suppose I"ll add my thoughts. . .
As I posted in a thread about 3 weeks ago, I was very concerned about how the marketing/promotions department were running the hand out of the bobbles. I don't think "first come, first serve" does anything. You are trying to do a few things with promotions like this
1. pack the house./sell tickets
2. reward longtime fans with a historical hand out
3. generate exciitement about falcon hockey.
By handing first come first serve you may be selling more tickets, but there is no guarantee the people stay.
The handout is nice, but what about the guy who is a season ticket holder for 10, 20 or 30 years, but has to work and can't get to the game to line up for the handout- I don't htink that is fair or good public relations
I proposed a ticket handout, raffle throughout the night. X amount of different colored tickets and throughout the night announce what color can come down and get their bobble head. This makes it fair to all in attendance, not just 700 people that line up, and it also keeps people there longer.
As far as the Ebay people- hey that is their perrogative and actually could help a BG fan who couldn't attend the game get one of these exclusive items. As for the dude in Wisconsin, perhaps he works for the company that produces them and got his hands on one. Again, if this allows a fan in California to get one, it isn't that bad.
And finally, I may be that fan to bid on one on Ebay. I had this date on my calendar since they made the change. I was planning on setting up a lawn chair at the ice arena about 3 in the afternoon and read my school assignments to pass time. I have a bit of a bobblehead collection and was excited about the possibility of getting a Rob Blake one and having it signed by the man himself. Then, Tuesday afternoon I got a phone call that my grandmother had passed away and I had no choice but to go off to Washington D.C. for the funeral on Friday. I didn't think twice about it, but I certainly still want that Rob Blake bobblehead, and if Ebay is where I get it (for a reasonable price) so be it.
It saddens me a bit to hear about fans getting one who don't know who he is or for the only intent of selling it, but hey, thats how it goes.

How about if they just announce 700 winners over the course of the night, drawing ticket stubs, etc. at random? Give folks 10 minutes to get to Guest Services to pick up the bobble or forfeit it. I like the idea of rewarding folks who are there for the game.
