Let me tell you about Jonathan's goal...
It was on the power play. He got lots of ice time on the power play. The puck was on the boards behind the net and they (some Bruins and some Portland guys) were fighting for it. That pair kicked it out to the left, but by then another pair had come in, and they fought for it. They kicked it back to the guys behind the net. Those guys fought for it some more, and by this time the winger/defenseman on the right side came back to the boards. The guys from behind the net kicked it to the right, and those guys started fighting for it.
So Jonathan was the only guy left on the ice that wasn't along the boards behind the goal line. He pinched in from the point. The Bruins' winger got a stick on it and centered it to Jonathan, who was standing about 8 feet out. He settled the puck and wristed it into the top left corner to make the score 3-2 in the third. I have no voice to attest to this fact...I started yelling and my voice cracked somewhere around the time Girard dug the puck out of the net and handed it to Jonathan
Overall, Jonathan played quite well. He logged a lot more ice time than I thought he would. He played mostly on the left side (though I think he took a shift or two on the right). It took him a few minutes to settle in... he made some mistakes early, but definitely improved as the game went on. My guess is that it was nerves, his professional debut and all. He's one of the youngest guys on the team.
Mom and dad were there, so they got to see Jonathan's first professional goal. That's really cool.
Jordan did not play, as someone mentioned before. But he looks really good and he said he feels really good. He's lost some weight since the beginning of the summer, but in a good way (working out, not because he's sick).

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Providence's second game was a 5-2 win. Jordan made 23 saves on 25 shots, and Jonathon scored another goal!
PS Jordan's picture in on their website again
