Hockey X account posted some photos today - interesting to note Pete Eigner is still on the roster.

a) show what center ice looks like (did they change the design or is it the same as last year?)
b) show the boxes/club seats as construction is supposed to done (or nearly done)

Hockey 101 is tonight for students. Meet and skate with the team. Brush off an old student ID and try to sneak in?TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 4:51 pmLink to the photos. Per the hockey team’s Instagram story (posted 25 minutes ago, only viewable for 24 hours), center ice looks the same as last season, with the state of Ohio outline and typical BG logo.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 4:51 pmLink to the photos. But they are being very cautious and NOT showing anything with the suites just yet. I’m sure you’ll be able to see it in posts after tonight’s event, even if just in the background.

Just saw it's $25 a month or $130 for the year. Absolute garbage, we have FloSports and intend on keeping it. Damn shame they moved away from this platform

It's $20 cheaper per year than Flo, without any other content that interests anybody outside Minnesota and the Dakotas.Bgsu2016 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:54 am Just saw it's $25 a month or $130 for the year. I’d rather spend the extra $20 on Flo to be able to see the Walleye play. This is an insanely bad move on the CCHA’s part. Re: Offseason 2024
BG Games by month on Midco:
October - 1
November - 6
December - 5
January - 9
February - 6
March - 1 + playoffs
To pay for that feels insane if you already go to a decent chunk of games. Like, I’m planning on being at the lone Midco games in October and March already. I’ll be at 2 of the 5 in December. Spending $25 on those months feels nuts to me.
If they were gonna do this, they really needed to do a single team option. How am I going to maximize this if basically every game is on at roughly the same time? It made sense to pay this much when there were other leagues available to watch. I’m not interested in North Dakota high school sports, so that does nothing for me.

Re: Offseason 2024
<sigh> I just...I...<sigh>. I thought Flo was expensive and I resented paying for rodeo and grappling content that I never consumed; I felt taken advantage of during those early years. That was mitigated somewhat when AHA signed up. Then came the ECHL. Then came all the HockeyTV content with the USHL and other junior leagues. OK, well, it's still a tad salty but I got lots of things to watch during the winter months. I'm good!
Now, for a $30 discount I'm subsidizing...uhhhh...well...a bunch of useless sports crap from teams I never knew existed (can't wait for my MidCo subscription to kick in so I can watch the replay of O'Gorman vs. Sioux Falls Roosevelt girls high school basketball) along with the promise of some unknown amount of CCHA-specific content. Fantastic. As ptd points out, all of this great CCHA-specific content will consist of Augustana 24x7x365. Can't wait.
If the price point were in the $80-90 range I'd be OK with the switch, but, once again, I feel taken advantage of. I know, I know, I'm whining.
EDIT: Nacho TV is $117/yr for their top tier and you can purchase a school pass for $108.

Re: Offseason 2024
You are not whining but stating fact. Another really poor move by the CCHA. Add this to the St. Thomas fiasco, and I wonder what if anything our league office does. I hope that they boot St. Thomas out of the league after this season. Prepare for all Augustana content and the Minnesota schools.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:25 am <sigh> I just...I...<sigh>. Re: Offseason 2024
B1G+ is $90/year. This deal should be no more than $50/year single team, $75/year league. They just made it MORE DIFFICULT to watch CCHA hockey. And I bet the league office is patting themselves on the back, telling each other what a great job they are doing.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:25 am

Biggest question is how can a school grow their program and exposure with this?

Comparison of the various college hockey streaming services/prices. Note that Flo is now $160.

Re: Offseason 2024
They also cover a ton of racing which is great for our house. We watch BGSU, Walleye and racing pretty regularly on Flo. Can't wait until ESPN+ just eats all of this eventually in a wave of consolidationTalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:25 am <sigh> I just...I...<sigh>. Mike McMahon has us ranked 51st. I get the rationale but was hoping for better.

Re: Offseason 2024
Roster with numbers:
https://bgsufalcons.com/sports/mens-ice-hockey/roster
31 players rostered.
18 forwards, 9 defensemen, 4 goaltenders.
12 players exhaust their eligibility this season:
-7 Forwards, 2 Defensemen, 3 Goaltenders
Spencer Schneider is not listed for his senior season.
It's a big roster. I'm glad I'm not the one managing it. 8 players not dressed each game gives a lot of flexibility if/when injuries happen. Also gives the opportunity to plug in a lot of fresh bodies for the second night.
