Re: Offseason 2023
I'm speculating, but the more I think on it, this feels like it could be more university related than anything else. Perhaps a violation of something and he's been essentially told to leave the university. Nothing else besides a rift with the staff makes any sense. If he's leaving on his own accord, the dude can freaking kick rocks.

Hazing incident involving him and two other players. Eigner is on administrative leave according to Dave Briggs.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 1:22 pm I'm speculating, but the more I think on it, this feels like it could be more university related than anything else. Rumors are running rampant on the various boards I follow. He can go now if there’s a coaching change or if his scholly is pulled. Eigner is the kind of guy who would grant a request to leave with no penalty by agreeing to pull his scholarship.

Take that back, Swankler is not involved with the hazing investigation. So the news is actually much worse.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 1:24 pmHazing incident involving him and two other players. Re: Offseason 2023
Swankler can transfer without penalty via hardship waiver if Eigner is let go. This feels like a pre-emptive move from him. Can assume Eigner is not going to survive this.

Give the university’s hazing history over the past 36 months, zero tolerance with quick executions

I'm embarrassed. These clowns have embarrassed the team, the program at-large, and the university. Clean house and ship out everyone involved. We can't have this crap here.

Re: Offseason 2023
I can't blame him for leaving now that more information has come out. Wasn't hazing an issue previously with this program?
Re: Offseason 2023
Curtis Carr is the interim head coach.
William Switaj, the director of club sports on campus, is serving in an “interim advisory role.”

I'm simply at a loss. Stone Foltz's tragedy was two short years ago. It made national headlines. It's the one thing any administrator at BGSU should be 100% clear about with their student-athletes. It's disgusting.

This is such a dark day for our program. Maybe the worst in like 15-20 years.

I've been told there have been hazing incidents going on for several years that have not been reported. Hope it's not true but would not be surprised if it is.

Sad....just...sad. How stupid and irresponsible

Try to call or send me more emails about upgrading my seats now.................
I have visions of the Dennis Williams year, not his fault..........., but we flat out sucked that year. Women's basketball is sounding real good for weekend plans this winter.
Embarrassing. Culture is how you win, no wonder why we haven't. Get someone that can get us to where we need to be. Our three most successful coaches have NOT been BG guys, but all left for their alumni. Hire someone that will win and if we lose them to another program so be it. Damn this sucks.
