Hi Guys, I've emailed the GC the AD a few times concerning the poor hockey team(fire Paluch). Always got a nice 2-3 sentince reply. I think he is doing his best and will be announcing soon about the improvements to the ice arena and Anderson arena. I keep telling him the problem is not the recruiting or the building, it the head coach! New Mexico's Krebs is the(AD) guy that renegotiate and extended Paluch's contract. So we are stuck with Paluch for 3 more years or buy out this $110,000. a year contract. (Maybe Pauch will resign Ha. Ha.) The players don't even like Paluch. Somethings wrong.

Pooch is not getting fired. We are saying nothing new.

I'd really like to see "the card".

Can someone with the appropriate computer skills, scan it and post an image?

Thanks!

But that is tradition, the three years I have been here that is how the marketing person has been introduced. Gotta keep with tradition :-D
You have a point there. When or how does "X" become a tradition? After one game? After two seasons?

The thing I really miss about the Ice Arena crowds is the knowledgeable student section (that would be Section A, back in the day). Section A would bring up something from the previous game, or last season, or five minutes ago in a clever chant that would make the place roar.

Wish #1, then, for Ice Arena atmosphere is seats packed with students who know what's happening and who value cleverness over vulgarity and crudeness (which is not to say that vulgarity and crudeness do not have their uses).

I take traditions from the early 80's. Someone else might take traditions from the late 80's. As an academic exercise, one might argue that certain traditions from the late 90's should be continued. Alma mater after the game? No, thanks. Beer Barrel Polka works for me. How far back does it go? :-)

Edit: Delete this:
Wish #2 is a culture of not moving around the rows and stairs only when the puck is not in play.

Now I don't actually remember what the card said, but if anyone is stealing anyone's goal chant its Miami. All they were missing was hitting a cow bell and yelling Go Blue

I'm with you. I remember a couple years back I thought we were headed in the right direction. Anyone remember the game against ND when we boo-ed like crazy anytime Wes O'Neill got the puck? I'll be darned if that didn't get into his head throughout that game. It was creative, it was effective and it wasn't crude at all. It was really fun too. I wish we could see more stuff like this.

There were a couple Miami fans standing behind me during the first period of Friday's game. After the Miami goal, they started doing the chant. I made a rather loud comment to my dad standing next to me about the chant coming from Michigan. Didn't see those guys the rest of the night.

Actually the chant came from Cornell... but close enough.
