I'm willing to bet we could go undefeated all year, shutout every game all year, score 300 goals, get to the National Championship game and win 35-1, and Falconboy and 24 would be on here b!tch!ng and moaning because we allowed one goal at the end of the season.
Damn, we exceeded everybody's expectations this year. Finished well above where we were predicted to. Pooch has a year left on his contract. There should be no talk about whether that should be renewed or not until at least the middle of next season.
And the comment someone made about the football team is simply that the NO team from the MAC will ever win a D1 championship unless the NCAA changes to a playoff format. The hockey team technically still has a chance to win the championship this year, and played three teams, AT HOME, that have a very legitimate opportunity to win the championship. When football can claim that you can start comparing the two sports.

Actually, the phrase "stirring the pot" comes to mind....Falconboy wrote:Hey I'm not calling for the man's head, just wanting to get everybody's take on the situation.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Post of the year right there. What Pooch and the team have done this year has been impressive. The program has needed a launching pad and this year has provided that. The amount of talent on the team is pretty damn impressive when you look at it...Whitmore, Schmidt, Cepis, maybe even Sexton have a legit shot at playing in the NHL. After losing Foster and Matsumoto the past 2 years, I'd say he's done a damn good job at restocking the talent in the program, and more importantly showing progress with now a playoff series win.pdt1081 wrote:I'm willing to bet we could go undefeated all year, shutout every game all year, score 300 goals, get to the National Championship game and win 35-1, and Falconboy and 24 would be on here b!tch!ng and moaning because we allowed one goal at the end of the season.

If you told me that we'd be playing in the 2nd Round of the playoffs when the season started, I would've laughed. Now I can laugh at myself for doubting what this team has done.
