177-126-23, 4 Frozen Four appearances, 1 national championship: Scott Paluch's record as an assistant at Boston College.

Obviously success as an assistant doesn't necessarily lead to success as a head coach. Alaska thought they had found the answer to their prayers with Doc DelCastillo and he got run out of town in a year.

I would rather see someone with proven HEAD coaching success who would see BG as a step up. Maybe Burkholder from Niagara or a veteran DIII coach. Maybe someone from the USHL. Wayne Wilson has done a great job at RIT but I don't know if he would want to leave the program he built himself.

You could apply that same logic to Burkholder though. He's been with Niagara's program since it began, first as an assistant coach then as the program's second head coach.

True, but with the CHA on its last legs he could see this as an opportunity to advance his career before Niagara gets thrown to the wolves in a bigger conference.

Fair enough.

Although geographically speaking, Niagara would be a good add to Atlantic Hockey. The Purple Eagles would fare well in that league should they move to it when the CHA crumbles.

This is just me talking, btw. Its not one of the rumors going around (at least not that i know of).

Obviously he wouldn't leave MSU as AD. But his hairpiece is worth at least 15 wins a year, maybe we can get that on loan?

I don't think he's the AD anymore.

How much would we have to pay the hairpiece per year? Could we get it for a bargain?

You're right, I missed the news, Mason did retire from the AD post at MSU. Add his name to that list of potential interim coaches from several days ago. FWIT, I'd settle for his hairpiece...perhaps he could pass it along to Todd Rierdon.
Du hockey comme dans le temps!
