So that explains Gametracker hanging up at 16:23 of the 2nd.

Hope he's okay.

Radio guys said Mahoney-Wilson was taken to WCH for observation and for precautionary reasons. I really hope he's OK... Watching a hockey player lay motionless on the ice is every hockey fans worst nightmare, no matter who the player is.

Sounds like this game can't end soon enough for the Falcon faithful.

Oh well...bring on Miami.
GO FALCONS!

Back to the bottom...

Post by Falcon Frenzy »

What an ugly game. I didn't see us getting skunked by a team like Lake St.

Our puck control was atrocious tonight. It seemed at times our players were very unfocused. So many missed opportunities with bad passes or stupid turnovers.

I also really hated how in the third period, when we had an offensive chance with only three goals down, we took very few shots on goal. We kept trying to set up the perfect shot as time ticked away. Lake St. wasn't doing anything special to stop us. We were stopping ourselves.

We are a better team than this. Why do we shut out Michigan one week and give up 8 goals to Lake Superior the next? Very inconsistent and as long as we continue to be an up and down team we will reside at the bottom of the CCHA.

On a side note, I really hope Mahoney-Wilson is OK. That was pretty scary to see that happen.

I hope the team does better at Miami!

Go Falcons!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Overall last nights performance was bad and good at times. The first two periods were horrible hockey for the falcons, but going down 3-0 on powerplay goals is hard to overcome. We have to stay out of the box.

On a good note, the third period the falcons played very intense hockey and showed their passion to wanting a win and they fought hard. Opportunities were there but just couldnt find the net. Sexton had one ring off the post and Finegan missed a nice backdoor opportunity when Inglis slid his blocker over in time. Also nice to see some scoring from a fourth liner in Wade Finegan. I expect to see more of him on the ice now as he played a solid weekend of hockey.

Good performance friday, rollercoaster performance last night. Hopefully we can put together two solids game against Miami next weekend. Theyre playing good hockey right now.

Not to sound cruel- BG had the opportunity to comeback when LSSU's backup had to come in cold. BG didn't test him enough and he looked shaky on the shots they did get. Like always BG had chances but didnt capitalize enough.

UPDATE: According to Paluch at the radio show tonight, the LSSU goalie is going to be fine! Paluch went to the hospital after the game. Mahoney-Wilson was alert and in good spirits. He had been knocked out from Svendsen's knee hitting him in the head (after he was hooked into the goalie). Once he came to, he could move and feel everything, but for precautionary reasons, they took him to the hospital and he spent the night there. His parents were VERY greatful for the excellent care he received from everyone who helped him after the injury. I'm so glad that he is ok. Regardless of what the outcome of the game was, it is good news to know that he will be just fine!!!
