I would think it does little, since the decision has clearly already been made.
Any of you see what I saw yesterday? The ice really seemed soft and slow. while happy that BC clocked the redskins, beating them on questionable ice doesnt seem right, would have been better to play the games at the Joe.

Ya, lack of "O" early on doomed the 'Hawks. Lack of comparative speed also. MU only scored one even-strength goal in the regionals, and that carried over to last night. Blasi looked stunned much of the game and never had an answer. RIT looked ga-ga from the get-go and took way too many penalties.

I was interested in hearing the reactions to the venue at Ford Field. Didn't look too good .. the crowd seemed separated from the ice and the pitch of the temp. bleaches looked pretty shallow. Announced crowd of 34,000+ was way below actual butts in seats. Gotta pull for Jerry in the final .... should be a good rematch of the championship match in Milwaukee a few years ago. BTW, did anyone see Jerry falling off the bench in the regionals and making ESPN's Bottom 10 Highlights ... or lowlights?

No way was there 34,000 folks there. I was in the temporary seats about 30 rows up and the view was decent but not great. Fortunately we could see the big video screen for all replays which really helped. I am still in shock that Miami gave up 7 goals. Coach York proved (yet again) that he is an absolute hockey genius. BC was totally prepared for this game especially on defense. They passed the puck really well and won all the battles. Looking forward to a great game tomorrow night.

We sat in the corner, 14 rows up right next to the RIT section. and I thought the seats were pretty good. I think there could easily have been 34,000 (maybe UT was counting  ) between both games. It wasn't great, because most of the sound got lost up high, so you missed a big part of the game not hearing hits, skating etc. I saw GC there and he said there was talk of moving it to Joe Louis after the econmy went in the tank, because they originally wanted to put the ice in the middle of the field and go for a 70,000+ crown, but the "econmy" prevented that, and the Ford family didn't want to give it up, so they compromised with the configuration they used. That's what he said!

they used the BGSU football tactic of sold tickets,
they should have just played it at the Joe.

Economy my a$$. Hockey fans saw through the ploy. I've been to 20 of the last 25 Frozen Four's, but I didn't want to have any part of this ... again, I use the work ... gimmick. The only economics taking part is the exorbitant ticket price ... impossible for the average family even if plenty of seats are available.

Well, the pumped up speakers were quiet and garbled where I was sitting down on the football field. We could barely hear them and could never understand what they were saying.

This is my 15th straight Frozen Four and I would have to say that it is far and away the worst*. Between the numerous problems of Ford Field (most of which have already been discussed), the fact that both semi-final games were non-competitive and the fact that the host city is, to put it politely, pure ghetto, I don't have much positive to say about it.

For anybody that's a first-timer, I beg you to give next year's FF in St. Paul a try. That one will be much more normal and more like a FF should be. Then you'll get an idea of why there's a few thousand of us from all over the country that go no matter where it is or who is playing. St. Paul did a spectacular job in 2002.

*My first championship was in 1996 in Cincinnati. The one with the melted soupy ice. When I was early in this FF streak, the die hards I talked to were always amazed that I came back to a second one when they found out that that one was my first.

Tricky Falcon - I like your line of thinking, but there is no way that Jerry York is coming back to BG. Heck, he just won his 3rd national title at BC and played there when he was a player, he's not leaving BC. They can give him more them BG can contract and scholarship wise.

BG Drew -

Thats who I was thinking might have the inside track. Alot of history with Wilson, was on '84 team, coached here awhile before he got a head coaching job.

I still think Williams would do a great job. Seems like the support for him died down once all these other names popped up.

Support is still there from the fans...I'm not sensing that same kind of support from the athletic department though. I still think Willy deserves a 3 year contract to see if he can give us that turnaround he has in the past.

If Willy is not named the HC today or tomorrow then BG is going a seperate direction. I don't think Christopher would name a new coach before the hockey banquet if Willy is not coming back. It would be awkward to name a new coach today or tomorrow and then hold the hockey banquet. If Willy is not named the coach by the end of the hockey banquet then I believe BG will hire Wilson.
