Lots of internet problems in the arena tonight. Video isn't working either.
Thanks Drew. I followed your commentary yesterday and doing so again tonight.

Refereeing SUCKED THIS WEEKEND!! PERIOD.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Only getting 13 shots on net doesn't help either.

Having to fight off a PP every other play doesn't help.... 13 penalties for 37 minutes on us, which about 12-16 minutes were actually legitimate...
We only technically had 29 seconds of PP because of overlapping penalties... Not a good environment to try and create shots.

Tough to generate much offense when your shorthanded all night.
Officiating was worse than SUCK...it was CRIMINAL. Even with that, we still had opportunities, and COULD have pulled it off. Hammond was NOT sharp tonight...two of the goals were real softies, and another was off a big rebound right back to the shooter.

So, any big announcements coming forth from Blake and Emerson? Did they retire Blake's jersey? What happened?

No, they didn't retire the number 3, and no, there was no major announcement. I was at the event at the Alumni Center before the game, and it was very nice. Mike Pikul started the event, followed by Dr. Cartwright, then Jack Vivian introduced "Doc" Emrick, and he introduced Rob. Mike Pikul did thank Rob and his wife for the donation to the program, but that's as far as it went. Yves Pelland's wife and daughter were there, they have endowed a scholarship in his name, which was very nice of them to do. At the Ice Arena, "Doc" came out on the ice and introduced Rob to the crowd. He came out and did the ceremonial puck drop, and then Rob signed auto's during the first intermission. The whole "Rob Blake" night went very well, too bad the game didn't.

Nelson was at the game Friday night but had to "go back to work" on Saturday.
