Former player updates - 2023
Re: Former player updates - 2023
Craggs with the hat trick tonight. Game winner, insurance goal, then an empty netter 15 seconds later.

Tech guys reporting that Swankler has failed a bunch of classes and may have eligibility issues if he’s picked up from the portal. His college career may be over.

Having went from BG to a school very similar to Tech, can't say I'm surprised. I took Calculus at BG, then went to the engineering school where Calculus was "Math 101," and retook it thinking it'd be an easy A first semester since I had already had it. I was dead wrong on that one. Never been so lost in a class I thought I knew. The fact they are able to recruit athletes is a feat in itself (my school had nothing more than intra-murals). Tech isn't one of those schools you just suddenly decide you're going to attend, especially starting your third year.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2024 12:55 am Tech guys reporting that Swankler has failed a bunch of classes and may have eligibility issues if he’s picked up from the portal. Tech guys now reporting that Swankler started following a DIII school on his Instagram account. If you recall, he started following Tech a few weeks before he announced his transfer.

A tip for the new staff going forward. Button the program up. From the student working for the Sentinel to the equipment room. It's time to run a grown up program again.
Re: Former player updates - 2023
Not sure what you mean Guest44 by becoming a "grown up" program again but there have been Student workers with the team for decades. Some of the former student equipment managers post here often. I'm not sure why you have an issue with the current ones but they do a tremendous job and Scooter trusts them. If Scooter trusts them, maybe he knows more than you do.
As far as the student who writes for the Sentinel. Maybe instead of throwing baseless shots at him, you could speak to him if you have something constructive to say. He is easily accessible on social media. Give him story ideas, etc. Many, Many times he was the only member of the media present, the only one asking thoughtful questions, etc during those pressers weekly. He IS a student. And he's learning. If you have an issue with his being paid very little by a PRIVATELY OWNED newspaper to report on the games. Take it up with that newspaper. Good luck trying to get a "grown up" to give up most weekend evenings from October to March to write articles for that paycheck.
Let's let the coaching staff focus on what matters. The product on the ice and all pull in the same direction towards lots of Ws for the Falcons!

Welp, that justifies keeping Flo for another year. Based on protected lists for next year, he'll face Evan Dougherty with Kalamazoo first.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 5:21 pm Swankler signs with Ft. Wayne in the ECHL.
