Not much room for error? I truly don't mean this to be a personal attack, but if you knew anything about hockey, you would know that you are talking about a team that finally found its skates. I don't know what Pooch said or what Matsumoto and Foster did to get this team fired up, but whatever it was it happened within hours of the UMass game and has been clearly evident since. As someone who has witnessed this team firsthand throughout this transition, I assure you that this is a different hockey team, folks. This is Falcon Hockey. This is next year.

As I said to Falcon Fanatic on several occassions last night (ad nausium, if you will), I can not believe how we totally, 100% dominated a team that had such a HUGE size advantage on us last night. I don't mean to sound like falconboy here, but since I have been following Falcon Hockey, I have never seen us dominate a bigger team before. This was the first time, and to me, that is a clear sign that our boys have finally figured out how talented they are and how well they can work together. I haven't seen much of this team live (thanks Arizona...), but it seems to me that the "small box" defense when we are shorthanded has made a HUGE difference. Horrell can obviously handle the traffic in front of him, and that is the key. Angles have become sharper and holes smaller for the opposition.

Our PK is phenomenal - period. Our overall defense has become better. Our PP offense also vastly improved after the UMass game. It would be all too easy to say that UConn gave us the opporutnity to become better, but I feel that it is pretty clear that we created our own opportunity to imporve having witnessed firsthand the turn-around. Something clicked in the middle of the holiday tourney and we are in for a heck of a ride through the second half of the season and into the CCHA playoffs. Hold on ladies and gentlemen!!!!!!!
From the halls of ivy...

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Not much room for error?
I believe falconboy was saying that we are last in the CCHA and to get a home ice berth for the CCHA playoffs, the team has to continue its winning ways.

I have agree with FB, there's very little room for error and the team has to think that way.

Ditto. We need to play great hockey the rest of the year to get a good CCHA seed. tOSU is also streaking right now. This weekend will be tough. I watched the OSU/Miami Game on ONN Friday night. tOSU still plays goon hockey - taking some cheap shots away from the puck.

Goon hockey? Ohio State? Say it ain't so! :o

It's good to see that some things never change, even if I am no longer around to actually watch it.

Just to keep the Buck bashing going with echoes of the past --

"Bozo, Bozo, Bozo," whenever the guy with the wild red hair and the similar name was on the ice.

or

Go Home Bucks, Go Home Bucks, Go Home Bucks

(and take the cheap stuff with you)

Do you remember yelling, "TRACEY!!" in a loud, high pitched voice? OSU had a player by that name that we would yell at all through the game. Annoyed the crap out of him too....which was the point, of course!!!!

GO ICERS!!
SMASH THE POISONOUS NUTZ!!!!!

And we need to continue that tradition Saturday night and show the youngins what it's all about!! :D

Besides the newspapers, we need to get the goal counts going again. That, unfortnately has stopped due to the music played over the PA. I am glad they play AZZ, but they play it until the puck drops and no one counts any more....

GO ICERS!!
BEAT THE SCHMUCKS!!

NO GOAL COUNT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

We have band. We will have count. Fight song once through with fingers raised. Once music stops, count out the goals followed by a "we want more, we want more." AZZ is for when the other team scores. Sheesh.

I havne't heard on where they're going to put the band. I made it known that I want to be in Section A, but I never received confirmation.

I would be surprised if the band wasn't put where it always is, in the endzone to the left of the scoreboard. And that would be ok too, due to the fact that you will be loud, play often (see comment below) and get the old cheers going!!!! Let's show the Buckeyes what the old Buckeyes used to experience when they came to our barn!!!!!!

And Yay!!! LET'S GET THAT COUNT GOING AGAIN!!

One more thing...they will play canned music, if the band is not playing....so play, play play!!!! Also, may want to talk to someone at the rink about keeping the canned music CANNED for that night!!!!!

GO FALCON ICERS!!!
SWEEEEEP THE BUCKS!!!!

I thought the only music after an opponent scored was the bass drum with the slow clap. I can also remember when they first started having a DJ for games the "Hey Song" and a horn would follow our goals. Then the goal count followed that. Usually, after play resumed.

Played Ay-Zig after that right before the face off.
